(or Petcoudiac) a series of hamlets along the Petitcodiac River, from above Moncton down to the Bay of Fundy

a village on the south coast of the Bay of Chaleurs, in the NE part of NB

a parish between the Atchafalaya & Mississippi rivers, just NW of Baton Rouge

still exists; a historical centre of Acadian culture; encompasses hamlets along the Memramcook River (east of the Petitcodiac & NW of old

various spellings; this is the present-day town of Bathurst at the mouth of the Nepisiguit River, on the south side of the Bay of Chaleurs

(often Pigiguit, or Pisiguit) a collection of hamlets on several riversides in the area around present-day Windsor NS; the English changed

the name of the Pisiquid River to the Avon; it also included settlements on the Ste Croix, Kennetcook, & Cogmagun rivers

the extinct pre-Expulsion village was across Malpeque Bay from the present-day Malpeque in Prince County

a set of rural villages in the SW part of NS, Digby County, in the region known as the "French Shore" (municipality of Clare)

(also Mindouie & Minudie); an extension of the Beaubassin settlement (& technically part of the old seigneurie); on a penisula on the NW

bank of the estuary formed where the Maccan River & River Hebert meet; resettled by Acadians returning in the 1760s from the Expulsion

needs no further explanation

the small islands of Saint Pierre & Miquelon, near the south coast of Newfoundland, were an Expulsion-era haven for Acadians, although

the place was recurrently attacked & occupied by the British; they remain French territory

the colonial name is still used; includes towns of Chatham & Newcastle; the Miramichi is a major river emptying into the Gulf of St. Lawrence

on the east coast of NB

(English: Church Point) a village in SW NS, in the area of Digby County's "French Shore" (municipality of Clare)

the point formed where the mouths of the Memramcook & Petitcodiac rivers meet at Shepody Bay (which leads to Chignecto Bay & the Bay of

Fundy)

a village 20 km east of the town of Yarmouth, at the SW end of NS

now known as St. James Parish; on the Mississippi; the centre of the parish is about 90 km upriver from downtown New Orleans; the

French/English rendition of the aboriginal Choctaw name of Cabahannocer has several spellings (e.g., Cabanocey, Cabannocer, Cabannocé)

now Canard River; a pre-Expulsion Acadian settlement just NW of Grand-Pré (across the Cornwallis River estuary)

a pre-Expulsion Acadian village at the head of today's Hillsborough River, which empties into the harbour at Charlottetown on PEI's south

coast, but originates close to Savage Harbour (not far from old Saint-Pierre-du-Nord, a major site of pre-Expulsion Acadian settlement &

centre of the fishery) on the island's north shore
