Higgs discovery
Higgs in ggDiscovery of the Higgs boson in the di-photon decay channel:• Two members of the LIP group (A. David, P.
Musella) had a major role in this analysis• A.David was main editor of the analysis
documentation. • P. Musella became co-coordinator of the CMS
analysis group "Higgs in two-photons".

Search for charged Higgs
The LIP group (P. Vischia, M. Gallinaro, et al.) performed the search for: • a light charged Higgs in decays of the top quark. • a heavy charged Higgs decaying in top quark
The measurement of the LIP group in collaboration with Helsinki provided the best limits in the branching ratio of top decay in charged Higgs.
• Light charged Higgs (mH<mtop ): JHEP 07(2012)143, HIG-12-052• Heavy charged Higgs (mH>mtop): HIG-13-026, HIG-14-023 (paper in preparation)

Top quark studies at 13 TeV
• Plenty of top quark events in Run 2• Look for deviations to the SM
– Improve systematics, extend to regions limited by statistics
• Tau (mis-)Identification efficiency• Top quark production studies
– Tune identification/bkg algorithms– Cross section: check production mechanism at 13 TeV– Same final state (ttbar), other production modes (BSM)– e.g explore links to Higgs exotic decays– Boosted tops, b-tags, taus, etc.
• Charged Higgs search:– Heavy H+ search limited by statistical unc.– Improve limits, extend to higher masses

The LIP group (P. Bargassa, L.Lloret) has introduced new methods in the search for stop quark in single lepton channel (2- & 3-body decays) which improved the CMS sensitivity in this channel (on-going):
LIP-CMS, ECFA meeting, J. Varela 18
Motivation:• Search for supersymmetry with compressed mass spectra• m(t1)-m(c0
1)< 80 GeV/c2 leads to the observed Cold Dark Matter density• This is where 4-body decays of the stop dominate
Stop search in 4-body decays
Collaboration with Vienna group in PAS- SUS-14-021.
Pursue the stop search in the 4-body decay at 13 TeV.
The LIP(CMS) group will contribute through the following directions to this search:• New discriminating variables• Testing simple versus MVA selection• Reshaping the signal regions • Add the 1e+jet(s) final state• Systematic uncertainty studies
