What’s Inside?
THE PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Tempus Fugits! Time Flies.
Imagine it’s the end of the third quarter .
Now we all look eagerly to the end of the
Lionistic year and of course the beginning
of a new administration!
It is also that time of year, approaching the
end of the Lenten season, when we begin
to harbour thoughts of bun and cheese .
Of course there is the more serious and
thoughtful and somber period of the cruci-
fixion of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Thanks to all our Lions and Leos who
worked assiduously to complete all those
projects and activities. We do thank God
for the strength and enabling to do it all.
We hope that you all had a very peaceful
and holy Easter.
Lions, Leos and Friends
We have completed yet another
successful quarter. Thanks to the
hard work of our team we achieved a
number of administrative activities.
Our Club was very happy to have had
our District Governor, Lion Lloyd Barker MJF, when he
conducted the audit of the Club.
Heartiest congratulations to our Leos who celebrated their
fifteenth year of service to the community. We, your spon-
sors, are very proud of you and your achievements. Our Club
wishes to use this medium to pledge our continued support
and guidance in the years to come.
Lions and Leos, we are on the last lap of the administrative
year and as we reflect on our projects and activities, we
should try to ascertain if we have lived up to expectations and
met the goals outlined at the onset of the year.
Please be reminded that service is a continuous process and
so we will try to build on our successes and improve on our
downfalls for the future.
Lion Debrah Rigg,
President.
Courage comes from wanting to do it well
Security comes from knowing you can do it well
Confidence comes from having done it well .

Located at Fort Thomas, Arizona, the Melvin Jones Lions International Memo-
rial was erected and dedicated in 1965. This came years after a movement by
the Arizona Lions to find a way to honor Melvin Jones, founder of the largest
humanitarian service organization in the world, "LIONS CLUBS INTERNA-
TIONAL ”.
Melvin was born on January 13, 1879, at Fort Thomas Arizona at a time when
the West remained unsettled because the Apache Indians were making their
last stand against the White man's encroachment on their land.
Each year on the closest Saturday to January 13, Melvin Jones birth date, a
rededication is held at Fort Thomas to honor Melvin Jones. All Lions and
guests are welcome to attend.
