MAKING IT WORK BLENDING

1. Arm blending activityi. Place the sound /k/ on your shoulder and say /k/ 3

times.ii. Place the sound/æ/ at the crook of your arm and say

/æ/ 3 times.iii. Place the sound /t/ at the wrist of your arm and say /t/

3 times.iv. Let’s blend /æ/ and /t/ by sweeping the sound /æ/ to /t/.

Do it 3 times.v. Say /k/ and blend it with /æ/ and /t/.vi. Now you try it with a partner.vii. Can you use arm blending for these sounds

/dʒ/+/∧/+/m/+/p/? Why?

Horsey goes gallop, gallop, gallop,

to the hut on top of the hill.

 

Doggy goes bark, bark, bark,

to the hut on top of the hill.

 

They meet the fat cat and fat rat,

in the hut on top of the hill.

 

They eat a bag of nuts,

big hot buns and yellow jelly.

They feel very happy.
