Lil’ Henry began to notice things in life very early. His

first conscious thought was how big Dr. Pierson was when he handed Henry to his mother right after he was born. But, his extraordinary mental abilities did not prepare him for the hard times he would have with his sisters. Actually, Henry had three sisters, Doreen, Doris and Becky. Henry gave a little gurgle, smiled and contentedly went to sleep.

But that was certainly not the end of Henry’s troubles with his sisters. As he

grew older and began to toddle around the house, they would always grab him and try to make him act like a doll. Henry began to see that there were some really different things about girls that he was beginning to resent. They were always trying to get boys to act like girls. One day when he was about 3, his mother had one of his neighbors from the Herrmann family over for a play date. Because the statute of limitations has not yet run out, Henry still cannot say which boy came over.

But, during the afternoon, Henry and his little buddy went upstairs into the girl’s room where the girls had an elaborate doll house set up, complete with furniture and little people. Henry and his friend played with things for a while, turning the beds upside down, changing the rooms all around and generally making a mess in the doll house.

Finally, his friend said to him, “I have to go to the bathroom” and started to get up to go downstairs. Henry thought quickly and then said, “You don’t have to go downstairs. Look. There’s a bathroom in the doll house.” His friend did not need any more encouragement. He took pretty good aim and soon the doll house showed evidence of a relieved 3 year old.

Later that day around supper time, yelling to their mom; “Something happened to our doll house. We think one of the water pipes must have busted.” Henry did not yet know much about plumbing but he smiled when he realized he already knew more than his older sisters.
