The client has over 55 million customers, approximately 5,500 retail banking offices and 18,000 ATMs and an award-winning online banking with 29 million active users. The client’s existing portal with various applications, was built over the period of time, as a result; portal and applications were hosted on different application frameworks and were managed by different owners with their specific IT tools. This resulted into: Disparate systems o Prevented collaboration amongst the members for sharing information Inconsistent look-and-feel o Lacked cohesive user experience Overlapping functionality o Features were replicated across systems High maintenance costs and administration overheads o Due to multiple platforms supporting multiple technologies and tools The client wanted to develop an open source based portal (adopting Open Source technology as part of corporate’s strategy) which can create an open, collaborative culture combined with technology to enable a new generation of markets technology implementation in Asia Pacific region and at the same time reduce risks, complexity, and costs. On understanding the client’s business challenges and requirements, CIGNEX Datamatics recommended the adoption of Liferay Portal solution.
