NEONATAL CAREOur satellite clinic is lacking a Phototherapy unit; this machine is essential in treating jaundice in neonates (babies in the first 28 days of life) – without such a unit, babies are at risk of death or permanent disability.

SAVE A CHILD’S LIFE WITH EMERGENCY/INTENSIVE CARE ESSENTIALS To attend to young patients in an emergency situation, the appropriate equipment is imperative. Cardiac patient monitors let us monitor a wide range of vital signs of the patient throughout any procedure, whilst a suction pump and laryngoscope are needed to clear the airways and to open up the patients airways. These key equipment would commonly be used in the case of serious pneumonia – the most common cause of death in children under one year.

A SAFE OPERATING THEATRESurgeries carried out in our operating theatre need to be accurate and precise to minimize any risk of infection and to ensure the speedy recovery of the patient. We require a cautery machine to stop bleeding after surgical incision and a hot air oven to properly sterilize equipment and reduce the risk of infection.

DENTAL CLINICTo keep our young patients calm and safe during their visits to the dentist, we need a new dental chair with medical suction attachment. Our current chairs are very old and not in good condition.

RADIOLOGY REFURBISHMENTAHC’s radiology unit is in desperate need of an overhaul to bring it up to international standard. Our radiology unit needs a reliable IT system installed, along with new higher resolution screens, so that radiologists and doctors can access and print images on demand, no matter where they are in the hospital.

Some of our equipment, especially in our emergency department, intensive care and inpatients, have seen their use-by date and must urgently be replaced.
