    Happy Father’s Day

Pondering what I could write to honor our earthly fathers I turned to Mr. Google to see what was said about “Father’s Day.” I was drawn to a few quotes:

“Any fool can be a Father; but it takes a real man to be a Daddy!” … Phillip Whitmore Snr “The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother.”… Unknown “Fathers are angels sent from heaven.” … Unknown “It is not flesh and blood but the heart which makes us fathers and sons.”… Johann Schiller “He didn’t tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it.”… Clarence Budington Kelland “Blessed indeed is the man who hears many gentle voices calling him father!”… Lydia M. Child

One night a father heard his son praying, “Dear God, make me a kind man my daddy is.” Later that night the father prayed, “Dear God, make me the man my son wants me to be.”… Unknown

At 4 years: My Daddy can do anything! At 7 years: My Dad knows…a whole lot. At 8 years: My father does not know quite everything. At 12 years: Oh well, naturally Father does not know that either. At 14 years: Oh Father? He is hopelessly old-fashioned. At 21 years: Oh, that man-he is out of date! At 25 years: He knows a little bit about it, but not much. At 30 years: I must find out what Dad thinks about it. At 35 years: Before we decide, we will get Dad’s idea first. At 50 years: What would Dad have thought about that? At 60 years: My Dad knew literally everything! At 65 years: I wish I could talk it over with Dad once more. …Unknown

Never forget, we all have a Heavenly Father full of love and grace just waiting for you to call him … FATHER.

    June 11 – 15, 2018

    5:30 meal – 6:00 VBS

Come join the fun, fellowship, excitement, and yes there could be a little work (that is if you call sharing God’s love with a child - work) each evening as the fellowship building and sanctuary will be transformed into an uncharted island where kids survive and thrive on God’s word.

Susan Christian will be working non-stop with this transformation, so if you have some spare time come by the church, there will be plenty to do. If you would like to help in any way during VBS week, please contact Ruth Psencik.

We will need cookies, brownies, and Rice Krispy treats. Monetary donations are always welcome, but most of all be in prayer for the children who will be attending and the volunteers who come and serve the Lord in this way. Registration forms are located in several areas of the church and on our website: seatonchurch.org. Several forms have been turned in already; let’s make this the biggest year yet!

Summer is fast approaching with the temperatures rising and drying out the land. Pray for rain to revive the crops and gardens…but never forget God is in control.
