Those who ride motorcycles share commoninterests that make them unique people. Theyshare a desire to know the freedom that comesfrom navigating their bike down the open road.They love the outdoors and the feel of exhilaration that comes from a good ride.

They are a special group of people and Godloves them . That’s why I’m so excited we’velaunched an HonorBound Motorcycle Ministryhere at Life Church. Motorcycles have long

been a personal passion and I have a burdenfor those who ride them. When bikers become

believers they make great followers of Christ because of their commitment to a lifestyle,accepting & free spirit, and willingness tofollow their passion. But how will they knowabout Jesus and become followers unlesssomeone tells them?

Motorcycles In Church?If you missed the Sunday morning service on August 25 , 2013, you missed out on seeing Harley Davidson’son the stage, and the launch of Life Church’s newest ministry, Life Christian Riders.

The first four members of our new ministry werepatched in and presented to the congregation andissued an invitation to any motorcycle riders to come

fellowship, enjoy a ride and worship the one trueking, Jesus Christ.

That’s why our HonorBound MM is soneeded. Under the leadership of Stuart Fink & Mike Dawson along with the support of their wives we have a great opportunity to

build an awesome ministry that will impactmotorcycle riders in Central Virginia for the

Cause of Christ! We covet all your prayersas we launch this work and trust that Godwill bless Life Christian Riders, our localHonorBound Chapter!

President’s Message

Just returned from a Hatteras Island vacation in which Ihad to come home early because I had developed a new

pain from my cancer. I needed a stronger painprescription and because being out of state it was easierto just come home. Enough said about my problem as

it’s in God’s hands not mine.

I am very excited about what the HonorBoundMotorcycle Ministry has in store for us as a new chapterhere at Life Church. Life Christian Riders being new hasa few curves to straighten out and one is our chapterpatch which is still on the drawing board waiting on thedesign work to be emailed. This patch will distinguish us

as Life Christian Riders from Life Church.

There will be a ministry ride event 14 th September “Ridefor the Unborn” sponsored by the Family Foundation.

Anyone interested in attending meet at the Life Churchparking lot at 8:30am so you can ride in together as agroup from Life Church. The next big exciting event forthe Life Christian Riders is our fellowship ride followingthe church service on the 15 th of Sept. The plan is to rideto Shoney’s in Che ster for a light lunch so we canfellowship and get to know each other. It’s nothing likea bunch of Christian bikers getting together for fun, food

and fellowship allowing Christ’s light to shine through itall. There is also a local ride planned following lunch.These types of rides help build a strong friendship andrelationship among fellow bikers not only ministering toone another, but to others as well. There will be otherrides and events that will be set up so everyone canattend - even for those who have to work on weekendsand others that are retired and like fellowship orministry during the week. Hello my Brothers and Sisters in Christ

My name is Michael S Dawson. I’ve been amember of Life Church for several yearsnow and felt it was time to step up inserving our Lord, and what better way thanby using my love for both God andmotorcycles.

What is HonorBound? When you look atthe definition it means, “Under an obligationenforced by the personal integrity of the oneobliged ”. Now, isn’t that what we do atchurch? We give honor to the most high

God and we serve the living Christ, throughour personal relationship with him and whatan honor that is. And our lives must behonorable, an obligation to God, our Father.

In Matthew 28:19 —Go therefore and makedisciples of all the nations. Baptizing themin the name of the Father, Son, and theHoly Spirit.

To teach and prea ch God’s W ord. Byshowing our new Honor Bound colors, wecan reach a seldom embraced group, thebiker community. To create a welcoming,biker friendly church is our goal, and topromote the mission and vision of our church.

Help us design what the patch will look like, create our own shirts, have fellowship rides and look toward larger goals as we grow into the butterfly God plans us to beand to help move this community to where it needs tobe. .

Reaching – Teaching – Building God’sKingdom

Wow, the Life Christian Riders chapter of theHonorBound Motorcycle Ministry has beenlaunched as of August 25 th, 2013 and I feel very

privileged in being asked to start its legacyalongside my husband, Stuart. Guess you can sayit runs in the family as I am the third generationPentecostal of legacies starting with mygrandmother seeing Pentecost hit the Petersburgarea and charter member of Petersburg 1 st Assembly and my aunt being a charter member of Life Church, formally Colonial HeightsAssembly of God. I’m excited and lookingforward to what God has in store of this outreachministry and what He has in store for me.

Our first Officers Meeting was held August 25 th 2013 following our morning worship service tofinalize what God had already laid on our hearts.Through prayer and His direction we havefellowship rides and ministry events lined upcompleting this year and going into May, 2014.We are looking forward in expanding the LifeChristian Riders chapter membership of theHBMM and the next patch ceremony. There areat least eight bikers within our congregation whoare interested in this ministry and going throughthe evangelism course suggested by Honor Bound. (You know who you are – keepstudying!) During the current officers patchceremony we felt the love and support from our home church and we appreciate it. We are askingfor Life Church to keep us in prayer as we Ridefor the Son to pursue the purpose of the Honor Bound Motorcycle Ministry and the primarygoals:Reaching – Teaching – Building God’s Kingdom
