Tel: 4135966141 www.wilbrahamlibrary.org David Polansky brings us Music Through the Decades, a oneman musical presentation showcasing the pop music that reflected what was happening in America from 1895 through 1960, from the Gay 90s to the automobile, the World Wars, and more. Come for a toetapping good time on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 7:00 p.m. David is an accomplished trumpet player in constant demand throughout the New England area. Over the years he has worked with Arthur Fiedler, Sandler and Young, Phyllis Diller, Henny Youngman, Ray Bolger and others. We're thrilled to have him back! Our Movie Matinees are back with a new format! Rather than monthly films, we'll have classic movie series for three weeks in a row at various points in the year, and will incorporate more recent films on Saturdays. Our first series is Jan. 3, 10 and 17 at 1:00 p.m. and features movies starring Gregory Peck. Contact us for titles or more information. Free popcorn will be served. The Cookbook Club meets Tuesday, Jan. 30 at 6:00 p.m. reading and cooking from My Kitchen Year by Ruth Reichl. Books will be available to check out at the Front Desk after Jan. 1. Please let us know what you're bringing by Jan. 25 so we do not duplicate recipes. Booked for Lunch meets on the first Tuesday of the month from 12:001:00 p.m. and is facilitated by Library Director Karen Demers. The winter selections are Crossing to Safety by Wallace Stegner on Dec. 5, The Boston Girl by Anita Diamant on Jan. 2, and Hillbilly Elegy by J.D. Vance on Feb. 6. The Evening Book Discussion meets on the third Wednesday of the month from 7:008:00 p.m. and is facilitated by Adult Services Librarian Mary Bell. Discussions will be on When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi on Dec. 20, Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly on Jan. 17, and The Harbinger by Jonathan Cahn on Feb. 21. Friends News and EventsThe fall trip to Gloucester was asellout as 55 folks enjoyed visits totwo historic sites topped off by agreat seaside dinner and speaker onseaport history. John Harrington isnow planning for the spring trip anddetails will be publicized early in2018. Effective with the Spring 2018trip, Friends members will be allowedto register for trips one week beforethe signup is opened to the generalpublic. Also, as most other trips aredoing, payment will be required withthe signup.Our Fundraising Night at Dana'sGrillroom on Wednesday. Nov. 1 wasa success! Thanks so much forcoming out and supporting the library,and thanks to Dana's for offering theopportunity.

In the hope that 2018 will be anespecially good year for someone,we've designed a special New Year'sRaffle to be held during late 2017 andJanuary 2018. Stay tuned...Irish Night returns: On Wednesday,Feb. 28, the locally renown Irish bandBanish Misfortune will once againvisit the Brooks Room and provide anevening of Celtic music, tales andrefreshments. Tickets will still be $7and all monies will go toward libraryprogramming. Join us for a fun­filledevening!The 2018 Annual Book Sale to beheld the first week of May. From the Children's DeskThe Winter Storytime session willmeet over a period of six weeks,from Jan. 10 through Feb. 15.Ages 2 – 3½ (with an adult) meeton Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. Theolder independent group, for ages3½ ­ 5, will meet on Thursdays at10:00 a.m.

Toddler Two­Step will be heldfor children 12 ­24 months oldon Mondays at10:00 a.m., for 5

weeks (Jan. 8, 22, 29, Feb. 5 and12). Toddler Two­Step is 20minutes of nursery rhymes, singingand music for toddlers and theirparents or caregivers, followed by20 minutes of play and social time.Registration for these programsbegin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday,Dec. 28 for Wilbraham residents.Phone calls will be acceptedstarting on Dec. 30.
