Who remembers the classic
R.P.G of FALLOUT: A post –
apocalypc role - playing
game released by interplay in
1997?
Well I certainly do, who could
forget?
Well if you don’t know what
I’m talking about, that’s ok be-
cause it is a pre-y old game,
but a brilliant one at that be-
cause it is the original Fallout
and the one that kicked the
whole series off to an amazing
start.
Let’s talk about the history be-
hind the series,
The global phenomenon took
the world by an iron grip that
entranced gamers everywhere
because it was something no-
body had seen before, wheth-
er that be the turn based
gameplay or that post-
apocalypc feel, that took the
world by the iron grip I per-
sonally would say both is what
got me so entranced in the
game. When the second fall-
out game in the series hit the
shelves of almost every game
store around the world it
made millions, because the
first one was obliviously no
disappointment for gamers
around the world,
so you can imagine what hap-
pened when this one hit the
shelves in 1999. There wasn’t
much difference between the
two brilliant games except that
the second brought in a new
colourful facon for you to play
with known as the Enclave.
The enclave are the main ene-
my in the second game armed
to the teeth with high tech
weaponry and power armour
to enforce the government’s
will, those are only few of the
things they have loaded up in
their arsenal, whether it be
from experimental creatures
such as deathclaws (le5)
Or their airborne transport
armed with full-auto shoot
Gatling lasers cannons mount-
ed underneath the cockpit
(le5)
Now moving unto the third in-
stalment in the series Fallout 3
made by Bethesda and re-
leased in 2007.
The reason Bethesda made this
one was because interplay sold
the fallout stock holds to Be-
thesda in an unknown year for
whatever reason.
Fallout 3 took on a different
angle of gameplay and story
but also removing almost eve-
rything from the first 2 games
except for the treacherous en-
clave which really annoyed al-
most every real fallout fan such
as myself because nothing else
was relevant from the first 2
games.
Bethesda changed the game-
play from turn based to first
person or third person choice
which didn’t really feel like a
real fallout game to me not just
because of that but also noth-
ing such as N.C.R, the master’s
army or the brotherhood of
steel (B.O.S) weren’t how they
were supposed to act they are
obsessed with technology they
don’t care much about keeping
people safe or helping them
they just like technology that’s
it, where is in fallout 3 it’s a bit
different they like technology
but they want to help people
in the capital wasteland
(Washington D.C.) but then
there are the outcasts who act
like what the B.O.S is supposed
to act like but they treat you
like dirt which is the right B.O.S
way, believe it or not. Now
moving unto the final instal-
ment so far in this wonderful
series, Fallout New Vegas.
Fallout new Vegas, released by
Obsidian in 2010 really rocked
the skyline like a mushroom
cloud. Fallout new Vegas is all
it was made out to be bringing
back all the colourful facons
and characters for you to inter-
act with or shoot in the head,
either way the story sll ends
the story sll ends but almost
every acon has a conse-
quence on how the game turns
out, so for example if you de-
stroy a whole facon such as
the N.C.R they will come a5er
you for say killing their ambas-
sador and they hate you unl
you improve your reputaon
with them or you could help
them and they help you and
you have a great reputaon
with them but certain facons
hate you if be friends with
them such as Caesars legion
and the B.O.S.
The storyline also is very com-
pelling and entertaining the
whole game is about the con-
trol of Hoover Dam and who
gets control of it. There are
four main facons that you
have choice of Mr.House, Cae-
sars legion, N.C.R and an inde-
pendent Vegas which you con-
trol.
All things are great but they
made one fatal mistake that
Bethesda made with Fallout 3,
you can’t keep playing a5er
you beat the game which I can
understand why but if you le5
some things un-finished you
can’t finish those things which
can be pre-y annoying but
once you start you have to re-
load your last save which is
frustrang but sll worth it as
a game.
As a final result I will rate each
game according to what I really
think of them:
Fallout 9.5/10
Fallout 2 9/10
Fallout 3 3.5/10
Fallout new Vegas 9.7/10
Well now you know which
games to get in this series and
which not to and you know the
history of the series.
10: Star Wars: The force un-
leashed – Lucas arts entertain-
ment
Stars wars: the force un-
leashed really changed the
star wars story because the
whole game is about Darth
Vader’s appren"ce Starkiller is
betrayed by his master and he
tracks down the last of the
Jedi to help him kill Vader but
Vader manipulates him and
says he had to do it for Star
Killer’s safety. I put this game
in my top ten games because I
enjoyed the storyline and all
the twists and the gameplay
was fast paced and enjoya-
ble… but there was a down
side the controls were a bit
sensi"ve and it would the con-
trols would not respond some-
"mes so it would leave
trapped in a whole bunch of
enemies. Despite these minor
hiccups it was a good game all
around, I give this
game a 7.5/10
9: Spore – Maxis studi-
os
Spore was a breakthrough for
a game based completely
around evolu"on, with its
wonderful graphics and it’s
easy to grasp controls and the
gameplay was very well organ-
ised because you go through
the stages of evolu"on
star"ng at the cell stage and
working your way up the food
chain eventually evolving into
an intergalac"c civilisa"on
and being the ruler of the gal-
axy. This may sound really in-
triguing but there are a few
downfalls to this, it gets very
8. Call of duty 4: Modern war-
fare – ac"vision and
infinity award
The call of duty
series has been going on since
2004 and personally my fa-
vourite ones are the original
two games probably because I
played them the most but….
moving on when call of duty 4
was released all the C.O.D fans
went ballis"c and ac"vision
and infinity award made a lot
of money but some people
were really disappointed with
it because it had a lot of bugs
and that people didn’t enjoy
(such as myself) but if you can
get over those minor hiccups
it is a wonderful and enter-
taining game. My favourite
feature about this game was
that you could play it online
against other players. Over all
this a brilliant and worthwhile
game that was worth the
money and a few glitches… so
I give this a 9/10
7. Mass effect – Bioware studi-
os
Mass effect
punched a hole through the
role playing genre with its
wonderful graphics and amaz-
ing gameplay while these are
amazing there was a downfall
with a few glitches and bugs
that made the game a bit frus-
tra"ng at "mes such ge=ng
stuck in an elevator or Com-
mander Shepherd stopping
abruptly while you’re running
to your but these can be fixed
by patching the game with the
newest patch which can found
by googling or going to the
mass effect website or the
Bioware website. Over all this
an amazing game that would
keep you entertained just
watching an explosion throw-
ing an enemy over a railing or
ledge… so I give this game a
9.3/10
6. Call of duty: modern war-
fare 2 mul"player
– ac"vision and
infinity award
When call of duty mw2 was
released C.O.D fans all around
the world jumped with joy
when it was released… but it
was not all it was made out to
be there was a lot disappoint-
ment in the campaign, well I
know I was at least…. on the
other hand the mul"player
was fantas"c and improved
from the C.O.D 4 but even that
wasn’t perfect depending on
who the host is, the server will
lag and be very buggy render-
ing the game unplayable. Oth-
er than those minor pi@alls it
is very fun and entertaining
game so give this game a
9.5/10
5: Fallout new Vegas
– Obsidian studios
Obsidian made the next mas-
ter piece in this outstanding
series. Fallout new Vegas has
everything a real fallout game
should have with the B.O.S
trea"ng you like dirt and the
N.C.R aDemp"ng to enforce
their rules (it feels like home)
Fallout new Vegas made a lot
of things relevant again from
the original two such as the in-
famous N.C.R and the proper
B.O.S but also introducing a
new fac"on known as the Le-
gion. The Legion run by some-
one known as Caesar are a Le-
gion of religious ex – slaves
who see the world as impure
and it must be purified by
slaughtering everything that is
impure which is basically eve-
rything in Nevada Las Vegas.
But as great as this may sound
there are a few bugs from
bugs from fallout 3 such as the
frozen vats glitch which when
you enter vats your character
doesn’t move but just follow
them with their gaze which
can be unbelievable infuri-
a"ng.
Other than a few bugs and
glitches this game is brilliant
and worth the money so I give
this game a 9.8/10
4. Borderlands - 2k
studios
Borderlands was something of
a new genre combining first
person shoo"ng with role
playing gameplay so you level
up and pick perks or abili"es
to help your character to over-
come great and outstanding
challenges that are beyond
gruelling and tough but not
impossible. At "mes this game
can beyond frustra"ng be-
cause when figh"ng mul"ple
amounts of enemy you can get
overwhelmed and forced into
a choke point and eventually
become knocked down so that
you have to kill an enemy so
you can get a second wind
(second life) and keep figh"ng
but if you can get over that
frustra"on and play the game
with friends or carry out your
quest solo figh"ng and over-
coming the challenges that
await on Pandora. Over all this
brilliant games with its car-
toon like look and spectacular
gameplay I give this game a
9.9/10
3. Fallout - interplay studios
The fallout series
took off to a mas-
sive start with the
very first fallout game being
released in 1997 by interplay
studios Fallout takes place in
2161 in L.A aHer the world has
been devastated by atomic
war in 2077. Fallout is by far
one of the bestselling role –
playing games of all "me be-
cause it is so unique with its
turn based gameplay and that
feeling of always being -
outnumbered so you really
need to think of a strategy
when outnumbered because
you’re going to die if you
don’t. Over all this one of my
favourite games and I will al-
ways love this game so I give
this game a 10/10
2. Red dead re-
demp"on –
Rockstar studios
Red dead redemp"on is set in
the 1911 west in new Aus"n
you are John Marston a former
outlaw trying to put his bad
life behind him but when fed-
eral agents take his family
from and threaten to kill them
if he doesn’t do what they say
which is to hunt down the rest
of his former gang. R.D.R is a
brilliant game with hours of
endless gameplay and side
quests you can indulge your-
self in and just riding your stal-
lion through the west is
enough to keep you enter-
tained. But there are a few
things wrong with this won-
derful game there are a few
very annoying but hilarious
glitches which can make the
game unplayable but all you
have to do is save the game
turn off your Xbox or ps3 and
then turn it back on and the
game should be fine again. De-
spite a few very funny and an-
noying glitches this game is a
one of a kind and I will always
love this game so I give it a
10/10
1. Brink – Bethesda studios
and Splash
damage stu-
dios
Brink combines
two things together that make
a deadly combina"on parkour
and guns. Brink was something
I had never seen before and it
stood out to me with its great
visuals and gameplay but it
was not all it was made out be
there was quite a lot of glitch-
es and bugs that made the
The campaign was no let
down though with its compel-
ling two sided story and every
ac"on has a consequence but
the online was what made this
game a huge let down but be-
sides the online this was a
great game so I give this a
9.2/10
1. Nine toes
Nine toes is actually one of the much easier bosses his
pets pinky and digit are harder than he is because they
heavily armoured in the front of their head and faces. If
you keep moving and stay of their way you can kill nine
toes very easily
2. Sledge
Sledge is actually very easy because if you stand behind
cover and keeping shoong him he will just stand there
And smack his hammer on the ground not touching you
all though he does have two goons who will shoot you so
be cauous.
3. Krom
Krom is one of the much harder bosses because he has
big turret that will rip through your shields like a knife in
bu-er also he has a lot of guys between you and him so
take cover when you can and work your way up to him.
4. Baron Flynt
Baron Flynt is actually a hard boss because he has a shot-
gun that shoots grenades but it is useless up close so get
close to him and he’s easy but he has a lot of guards so be
very careful and work your way up slowly.
5. Rakk Hive
The Rakk Hive is one of the most annoying and bosses in
the game because it has Rakk flying out of its back every l
minute and they occupy you while it shoots corrosive ac-
id at you so watch your back and keep moving.
6. The Destroyer
The Destroyer is by far the hardest and most annoying
boss in the game because it has a huge laser beam thing
that shoots out of its eye and it has huge spikes that fly
out of its mouth that kill you instantly if they hit twice in
a row. Despite these annoying powers it does have weak-
nesses such as it mouth when its open and the glowing
orbs on its tentacles and those do ungodly amounts of
crical damage which if you keep firing at those crical
points it will die in no me.
7. Crawmerax The Invincible
Crawmerax is meant to be the hardest boss in the game
because he can kill you in a hit if you’re unlucky but he
does have weaknesses the purple glowing orbs on his
body is the easiest and fastest way to kill him and ele-
mental weapons really help such as incendiary and corro-
sive. Shoot those glowing orbs with either incendiary or
corrosive and he will go down pre-y easy but it will take a
while.
8. CL4P—TP interplanetary ninja assassin
CL4P-TP is one of the final bosses in the game and not
one of the hardest because he has big robot buggy thing
isn't hard at all you do is just destroy the turrets and its
basically dead.
