Let’s scratch that, I’m going to tell you how everyone in this room can save money and make money with that goldmine within your business – historical transactional data. To discuss Big Data you have to include Dark data, which once you move out of traditional enterprise data held in CRM, ERP, data warehouses, and move into machine data, semi-structured and unstructured data its proportion increases is proportion increases as we move structured data to unstructured data. Its value to a business will no doubt vary, but it’s not being given the same attention as the rest of data a business captures, and spends a lot of money capturing. My point is it shouldn’t be ignored. To give that statement context… DARK DATA Customer Information Log Files Previous Employee Information Raw Survey Data Financial Statements Email Correspondences Account Information Notes or Presentations Old Versions of Relevant Documents

COO, Mushtaque Ahmed When JJ FoodService first live in 2011 they saw their T/O increase by 15% in the first 6 months Significant ROI efficiencies Routing Picking list Loading of vehicles Within the call centre they saved around £50k a year, which was around 2.5 agents from time wasted by not have to transfer calls. 4 years on --------------------------------------------------------------- 100% Call centre 60% of business is done through the portal = GREAT Lost the human touch = the ability to upsell and cross sell 3 years’ worth of data and put into the Azure Machine Learning, which is creating this algorithm to drive product selection for that particular order, not just the customer.

They factored in: Purchase history Frequency Monthly, weekly daily product usage To create a tailored shopping list for that order & for that customer with a mix of fresh, frozen and ambient goods. Even at checkout the portal would make one final suggestion of additional items and for every 100 items recommended 5 items are added to the basket. You couldn’t do that with call centre agent.

• Deep integration between Dynamics 365 and Office 365 brings together the two worlds of business process
and personal productivity. Historically users have been the point of integration between business processes
and the email, spreadsheet and word processing tools they use. This meant lot of time flipping between apps
and a lot of cutting and pasting. With Dynamics 365, we connect the structured workflow of business apps
with the unstructured work of collaboration and productivity for empowered employees and a much more
productive experience.
• Business applications will be able to adapt and innovate in real-time with a common data model and
extensible business application platform. Dynamics 365 apps will:
• Use a common data model, shared with Office 365, to simplify data management and integration across
apps and business processes. • Offer tech savvy business customers/analysts, aka “citizen developers,” (using Power Apps, Power BI
Embedded and Microsoft Flow) and professional developers (using Azure platforms services) a consistent
business platform they can use to compose new apps and easily extend and modify existing ones. • Come with connectors that let you integrate with applications and services from Microsoft and our
partners - including custom API’s and on premise systems.
• We are also introducing Microsoft AppSource – Microsoft's new destination for business users to easily find

and evaluate line of business SaaS apps, add-ins and content packs from Microsoft and our partners, including
those built on top of Dynamics 365, Office 365, Cortana Intelligence and the Azure platform. AppSource is
available in preview and customers can try out more than 200 solutions.
