THINGS WE NEED TO IMPROVE

• To amplify the technological resources which we can use in Religion classes.(films, internet, CD Rom )

• Knowledge and understanding of religious terminology are important , but ability to apply that knowledge is more important.

• To work in small groups in class. • Discuss possible reasons why people might agree or

disagree with some religious questions. • Write your own glossary.

LESSON SEVEN

• WE BELIEVE IN ONLY ONE GOD• ( Christianity, Judaism and Islam)• BUT THERE ARE SOME BIG DIFFERENCES.

1) The biggest difference is the Christian belief in the Trinity. Jews never believed Christ was the Son of God.

2)Another difference between Jewish and Christian teaching is that Jews are forbidden to draw or make images of God.

Leviticus, Deuteronomy) Jews regard the Torah as the holiest part of the Tenakh , as it was given to Moses directly by God.

N=NEVI'IM( Prophets)This collection of books is divided into two. The Former Prophets trace

the history of the Israelites after the death of Moses. The Latter Prophets contain the words of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and 12 Minor

Prophets.

shaná.-Shabbat: Jewish holy day beginning at Friday sunset and ending on Saturday at

What is a kippah?

• Many Jewish men and boys wear a small cap called a Kippah as sign of respect to God. It reminds them that God´s intelligence is higher than ours.

BUT MUHAMMAD WAS THE FINAL PROPHET.

MUSLIMS FAST DURING RAMADAN

• 1) Muslims must fast between sunrise and sunset during the month of Ramadan in the Muslim Calendar.

• 2) This fasting means no food, no drink, no smoking. Ramadan is a time of both physical and moral self-discipline, and a time of total obedience to Allah.

• 3) Eid ul-Firt marks the end of Ramadan.
