What other kinds of organisms are there ?

• Imagine that it’s over 300 years ago. While on a countryside stroll with your family, you come to a green coloured pond. Your father, intrigued by the colour, pulls a palm-sized magnifier from his pocket and carefully put a drop near its rice-sized lens. He gasps and waves you over and your eyes grow wide at the sight-

• Tiny green spirals and even tinier bug-like specks darting this way and that. You have just discovered something that no one, even the greatest scientists of he time, has ever seen. You have discovered the world of microscopic living things: Micro- organisms. Why do you think nobody knew about these living things before ?
