    Less is

    More

    Did you know that the

    manufacture of some

    products (like curved

    work surfaces) can pro-

    duce up to 48% waste

material? Thats whywe introduced our Less

    is More program.

    Less material

    Less embodied energy

    More sustainable process

You may already know about how to select

    environmentally-friendly materials; heres a

great opportunity to easily select and specify

products that produce less waste in the manu-

    facturing process. Specifying rectilinear work

    surfaces and higher-yield, non-directional

    fabric helps do just that.

The Less is More program offers four fabric

    patterns: Anchorage, Framework , Belgrade

and Tabby Weave, all from Guilford of Maine.

    Tabby Weave (100% Post-Consumer Recycled

    Polyester) Anchorage (35% Post-Consumer/

    65% Pre-Consumer Recycled Polyester) andBelgrade (95% Post-Consumer/5% Pre-

    Consumer Recycled Polyester) are Terratex

    fabrics.

    Fabric OptimizationDown-roll

Down-roll means the height dimension o thetile or component is parallel to the warp othe abric (Fig. A).

Directional panel abrics are usually appliedDown-roll on panels, tiles, tack boards, fipper doors and other Systems/Freestandingcomponents.

    Railroad

Railroad means the height dimension o thetile or component is perpendicular to thewarp o the abric (Fig. B).

includes a Less Is More category,

    At Trendway, were passionate about

removing waste rom our process. We

re-use every scrap we can, rom using

oal material to make pallets to creat-

ing abric samples rom excess material.

    Beside Trendways waste reduction

    ocus, our resource recovery eorts

have conserved more than 1,220 tons

o materials directed to recycling or en-

ergy generation over the past ve years.

Over 8.6 million gallons o water were

    conserved during the same time.

We recently invested in new, efcient,

    state-o-the-art acility lighting that

allows us to take ull advantage o

    abundant daylight in our manuacturing

    acilities.

This will yield a 53% energy reduction.

    And improvements in our powdercoat

paint acility allowed us to slash the

    energy usage or that process.

All Trendway products have achieved the

    SCS (Scientic Certication Systems)

    Indoor Advantage or Indoor Advan-

tage Gold certication o indoor air

    quality. Trendway products can also

contribute to LEED credit points in

several categories. Visit our website atwww.trendway.com or ull details.

In June, 2011 Trendway earned certication

as a CarbonNeutral company rom The

    CarbonNeutral Company, a world-leading

    provider o carbon reduction solutions.

Trendway is certied in accordance with The

    CarbonNeutral Protocol, the global standard

    or carbon neutral certication, enabling

a business to measure and reduce carbonemissions to net zero.

At the same time, TrendWall broke new

ground by becoming the industrys rst

    product to achieve CarbonNeutral status.

This new certication elevates the impact

    that the inherently sustainable moveable

walls can have on green design. In becoming

    CarbonNeutral, TrendWall appeals even

more to architects, designers and acility

    managers seeking workplace solutions that

    support the triple bottom line.

    For Trendway,achieving net zero means

investing in high quality, highly transparent

carbon reduction projects across the globe

that ocus on CO2 (and its equivalent

    greenhouse gases) capture or reduction.

    With these investments, Trendway acilitates

the reduction o global greenhouse gas

emissions. Only with such unding will these

    important, innovative technologies be

    developed and viable.

    Trendway-supported projects include the

McKinney Landfll Gas Project in Dallas,

Texas; Fredericton Landfll Gas Project in New

Brunswick, Canada; and the Tieling Coal Mine

Methane Capture and the Hebei Province 34.5

MW Wind Power Project, both in China.
