    ABSTRACT

    Arsenic is one of WHOs 10 chemicals of major public health concern. The greatest threat to public health from arsenicoriginates from contaminated groundwater. Two forms are common in groundwater: arsenite AsO !

    !"# and arsenate

    AsO$!"#% referred to as arsenic&& and arsenic'#. One of the most well()nown method of arsenic remediation is

    adsorption. Titanium dio*ide TiO+# can be used as an absorbent to remo,e arsenic. -orption capacit of di/erent

    polmorph TiO+ depends on sorption site densit% surface area% particle sie% surface energ% crstallinit and

    crstalline structure% all these parameters depends on particle preparation techniue. 2an di/erent preparationmethods ha,e been described in order to obtain high(performance TiO+ nanoparticles% including hdrothermal

    methods. This method is commonl used to grow large good(ualit crstals and highl homogeneous nanoparticle.'arious parameters had been studied in order to get the better product li)e temperature% e*perimental duration%pressure percentage 3ll#% pH% molar ratio of the starting materials% and sol,ent tpe. The preparation of TiO+nanocrstal will be carried out using ,arious concentration of acid and base sol,ents using hdrothermal method.-nthesied materials will be characteried and calculated using *(ra di/raction% -42 -canning 4lectron 2icroscope#and 5runauer(4mmett(Teller 54T# surface area theor respecti,el% whilst sorption data will be interpreted in terms ofthe 6reundlich and 7angmuir euations. This research is e*pected to obtain the optimal concentration of the sol,entsto produce high purit TiO+ crstals for photocataltic purpose.
