Our Mission Camp Lejeune Officers’ Spouses’ Club is a private, non-profit

fellowship and volunteer organization for officer

spouses at MCB Lejeune and surrounding areas. It was

created to foster a comfortable atmosphere of

camaraderie, support and community involvement

among spouses of active and retired personnel. We

carry out our mission statement in three ways

Socially: supporting members through networking

and friendship at events like luncheons and sub clubs.

Charitably: using the time, talents and energy of

members to enhance the greater Camp Lejeune area.

Socially: supporting members through networking and

friendship at events like luncheons and sub clubs.

Generously: raising funds to go into the Charitable

Distributions Fund, which supports local organizations

with monetary donations and the larger OSC

Scholarship Fund, which awards students and spouses

with college scholarships based on both merit and

academic excellence.

What an amazing month we have had to start off this year! It started with Welcome Aboard and new for this year, Mini Welcome Aboard. There were a lot of new faces to meet and it was wonderful to see all the familiar faces after the summer break. We had many of our supportive vendors and opportunities to start “Hitting the High Notes”. The Mini-Welcome Aboard was a “shrunk down” version for those unable to attend the big daytime event. Merging it with our Happy Hour allowed many spouses to sign up and have a nice evening getting to know each other.

Every year the Welcome Aboard keeps our 1st Vice President busy all summer. Seeing Katie Magee’s vision come to life with the help of many of our Board Members is what OSC is all about. Ivana Almand, our Advertising Chair, also worked all summer for this event. She did a wonderful job contacting all of the business owners, local and national charities, and community support groups. Attending Welcome Aboard gave them the opportunity to meet our members and support our event. Thank you Katie and Ivana for your dedication. If you were unable to attend, there is still time to join. E-mail our membership and we will get you in contact with your unit representatives and any committees and sub-clubs you are interested in joining. Thank you to all who volunteer and attended! September was a busy month for the OSC. Our first luncheon of the year was so much fun! The 2nd Division hosted “Beach Blanket Bunko” and we enjoyed some of our favorite parts of summer before the cooler North Carolina weather moves in. Playing Bunko was a wonderful way to bring together the new faces with returning members to get to know each other. Thank you to all the Division ladies for putting on a great event. Along with our luncheon, many of our sub groups have started out strong. Play group is playing, Gourmet Club is cooking, Book Club is reading, and many others have kicked off a great year. We have a few new opportunities to offer our members this year and one exciting addition is our Volunteer Hour Credit System. For the first time in our OSC history, we will be documenting volunteer hours. This documentation will allow members to apply for volunteer awards and build their resumes. These hours can be obtained by volunteering on our committees and events as well as by attending our events. Members who have acquired high hours will be recognized at our Membership Appreciation Luncheon in May. More details of this program will soon be available. I hope everyone will take advantage of this great opportunity. October is here and with the cooler weather comes more OSC fun! Bring your spouses and/or your friends for a great night out at Oktoberfest at the O’Club on October 2nd. This event is a social event hosted by the O’Club open to all authorized O’Club patrons, SNCOs, and their guests. Our annual Hidden Talents Fall Craft Fair will be a little earlier this year. Prepare to get some holiday shopping done early on October 31 and November 1. There will also be a bake sale and Tree Silent Auction with all proceeds supporting our Philanthropic Fund. We appreciate all the support and opportunities for our OSC membership. If you need any more information on how to get involved, please don’t hesitate to contact me at [email protected]. I’m looking forward to all of our upcoming events and the opportunity to meet and see each one of you! Sincerely,

Stephanie Williams 2015-2016 OSC President

Please let me know if you are ever down Tampa way!

Most Fondly and Heartfelt, Kim
