Our Mission

Camp Lejeune Officers’ Spouses’ Club

is a private, non-profit fellowship

and volunteer organization for

officer spouses at MCB Lejeune and

surrounding areas. It was created to

foster a comfortable atmosphere of

camaraderie, support and

community involvement among

spouses of active and retired

personnel. We carry out our mission

statement in three ways

Socially: supporting members

through networking and friendship

at events like luncheons and sub

clubs.

Charitably: using the time, talents

and energy of members to enhance

the greater Camp Lejeune area.

Generously: raising funds to go into

the Charitable Distributions Fund,

which supports local organizations

with monetary donations and the

larger OSC Scholarship Fund, which

awards students and spouses with

college scholarships based on both

merit and academic excellence.

Spring is here! March certainly flew by and what an exciting month we had. There was the very successful Spring Fundraiser, Happy Hour, as well as the active sub-clubs, Book Club, Play Group, Gourmet Club, Ladle Leaf and Loaf and Golf Club. If you have recently joined the OSC, it’s not too late to get involved in these activities and groups. This year’s annual spring fundraiser, “A Night at the Movies Auction Fundraiser” was very successful and a wonderful evening. The Spring Fundraising committee and Co- Coordinators, Erika Simmons and Nancy Trollinger worked hard and put in many hours for this event. There was a great selection of donations and the baskets donated by the units were amazing. Thank you Erika, Nancy, committee and everyone who participated in making this a success. The night certainly helped us achieve our fundraising goal for our Philanthropic Fund. The event raised over $14,000.00! Thank you to everyone who attended! Next month we will award scholarships to graduating seniors and spouses as well as grants to community organizations. Camp Lejeune OSC is hosting the Annual Joint Luncheon on April 19th. Each year the luncheon is rotated between Cherry Point, New River and Camp Lejeune OSC. All members should have received an invitation in the mail and the RSVP deadline is April 7th. There are only 150 reservations so do not wait to RSVP via link on our website. The Joint Luncheon committee and coordinator, Katie Magee have been done an amazing job planning all the details of this luncheon. The Hidden Talents Spring Craft is also coming up on April 23rd and 24th. We need bakers for the bake sale and volunteers to work the bake sale and Ways and Means table. All proceeds benefit our Philanthropic Fund. There was a Sign Up Genius emailed to sign up. Any questions, contact Jessica Wilkins @ [email protected]. Don’t forget to keep documenting your OSC volunteer hours. Details of the Volunteer Hour Credit System are on the OSC website. Track It Forward is the online tracking tool and the details on signing up are also available on our website. There will be a Membership Appreciation/ Volunteer Award event combined with our monthly Happy Hour on May 6th. All of the OSC volunteers will be recognized for hard work this past year. There is still time to join to take advantage of this great opportunity. I appreciate all the support and opportunities for our OSC membership. If you need any more information on how to get involved, please don’t hesitate to contact me at [email protected]. I’m looking forward to all of our upcoming events and the opportunity to meet and see each one of you!

Sincerely,

Stephanie Williams 2015-2016 OSC President

What "A Night at the Movies" we had on Saturday night at the Camp Lejeune Officers' Spouses' Club

Spring Fundraising Auction held at Marston Pavilion. The Co-chairs for the event, Erika Simmons

and Nancy Trollinger, want to take a moment to thank everyone who came out to support

the OSC! Your generosity is greatly appreciated! We had a wonderful committee that stepped up

and went above and beyond with ideas, hands on efforts, and downright brawn to bring this event

together. Thank you all for your hard work and support. We are so appreciative of your efforts!

We would also like to thank all of our donors. We had some of the most amazing auction items put

together and donated by our Camp Lejeune units, home-based businesses, and base

communities. We also had wonderful donations from local businesses from all around the greater

Camp Lejeune area. I encourage you to take a look at the attached list of donating businesses and

return the favor by supporting their establishments.

In addition to our appreciation of units, members and community donors, we also want to thank

the spirit of excitement and financial support of those who attended the event. We particularly

want to thank those groups that went all out to decorate their tables (and themselves!) in a theme

that represented either their unit, a favorite movie, or frame of mind. We had the 2/6 relay team

rallying in the last leg of their deployment "race", 10th Marines in their Aloha state of mind,

MARSOC "Raiders" of the Lost Ark, the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit with Breakfast at Tiffany's,

the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit going Gatsby on us, 3/8 pulling out elegant unit style, NOSC,

and a stunning table for General Officers and VIPs! We loved the creativity and excitement that you

generated. At the end of the evening the Champagne Toast prize went to the 26th MEU and

Breakfast at Tiffany's. Well done and many thanks to all that participated!

We would like to take one more opportunity to thank BGen. Castellvi for being our emcee for the

night, LtGen. Conant (retired) for being our auctioneer, Jill Weidley as our advisor, Stephanie

Williams, OSC President for her support, and John Wheeler and the staff at Marston for making it all

happen. Our thanks also go out to Tiffany Rudy for our photo booth as well as the handiwork of

Kristy Wright for building our massive gold frame for the setting! Both donated their time and

efforts to capture great photo memories of the night.

Once again, thank you to all who made the evening a fun and successful event!
