Primers

Why we need to use them?

• To secure adherence of the whole system to substrate

• To secure the required protection against osmosis or corrosion

• To provide adhesion to the following coats


PRIMER / SEALER

• Vinyl Primer and Vinyl Primer Spray

Aluminium pigmented vinyl primer for sealing epoxy coatings and old antifoulings. Can be used as primer for wooden substrates and is suitable for steel, in any area of the boat. Very recoating properties with antifoulings. No maximum recoating interval.

Note: Always apply one coat of Vinyl Primer before Racing Ultraspeed!

Colours: Aluminium

Can sizes: 0,750 ltrs, & 2,5 ltrs. Spray version: 0,400 ltrs

PRIMERS

• AntiPest

Aluminium reinforced, two-pack modified epoxy, suitable as a long exposure undercoat for epoxy and polyurethane systems and designed to prevent the osmosis in fibreglass boats. Very good adhesion on top of grp, aluminium and steel. Can be overcoated directly with any antifouling without applying a sealer coat. Can be used for osmosis prevention when a 3-coats system is applied.

Colours: Grey Mixing ratio: 4:1

Can sizes: 0,750 ltrs, & 2,5 ltrs.

PRIMERS

• Epoxy Yacht HB

Aluminium pigmented, modified mastic epoxy, for any area of the boat. Ideal for steel, but can be used for osmosis treatment or prevention system. Must be sealed before applying any antifouling.

Colours: Aluminium Mixing ratio: 5.5:1

UNDERCOATS

• Speed Undercoat

Polyurethane undercoat to be applied on top of epoxy coatings prior topcoating, as it is the ideal preparation for high gloss topcoats. Very smooth finish, specially if applied by conventional spray. Fast drying product which provides excellent sanding properties.

Colours: White Mixing ratio: 4:1

OSMOSIS TREATMENT Special product

Application tools:

• Osmoshell

Glass flakes reinforced, solvent free, pure epoxy coating, which provides a very hard film and a waterproof barrier against water absorption and vapour transmission. Excellent adherence directly on top of any substrate such as steel, aluminium and specially gelcoat or fibreglass. Specially designed product for osmosis treatment with 5 years guarantee. If diluted, can be brushed to protect bilges and interior damp areas, with difficult access.

Colours: Light Green Mixing ratio: 2:1



FILLERS

• Lightweight Filler

Very light weight epoxy filler for high film thickness applications (up to 3 cm. in one coat), can be used above and below the waterline (without affecting the weight of the boat). Very low specific gravity (0,57 kgs/ltr.). Solvent free and very easy to sand. Ideal for very uneven surfaces, such as the ones in aluminium boats or to repair big damages. Must be sealed with Finishing Filler.

Colour: Light blue Mixing ratio: 1:1

Can sizes: 1 ltr. & 4 ltrs.

FILLERS

• Finishing Filler

High density finishing filler, ideal when a very smooth finish is required. To be applied on top of Penguin Lightweight Fillers, directly on top of the epoxy primer. Suitable for the osmosis treatment, on top of Penguin Osmoshell. Must be sealed with an epoxy primer. Very easy to sand.

Colour: Buff yellow Mixing ratio: 1:1

Can sizes: 1 ltr.

• Epoxy Repair

High density, very creamy finishing filler, ideal when a very smooth finish is required or to repair osmosis blistering. Can be applied directly on the grp or onto any suitable epoxy primer. Very abrasion resistant product.

Colour: Green Mixing ratio: 1:1

Can sizes: 0,5 ltr.

FILLERS

• Gelcoat FillerHigh density polyester coloured filler for minor repairs and scratches. Very easy to apply, fast drying and easy to sand and polish. Different colours can be mixed (prior mixing comp. “B”) to obtain the same shade of the boat’s gelcoat.

Why we need to use them?

• To prevent marine growth on the hull

• To secure clean hull (less fuel consumption and higher speed)

• To provide better protection of the hull, by avoiding fouling to damage it


ANTIFOULINGS

• NonStop

Medium polishing rate a/f, for any type of boats, max speed 35 knots. Bright colours and good colour stability in immersion. White and Grey are copper oxide free product, that can be used for aluminium substrates. Product showed to be “Best in Test” in Norway!

Selfpolishing antifoulings

ANTIFOULINGS

• NonStop Eco

Advanced waterborne, selfpolishing antifouling without copper and other biocides, with a physical antifouling effect. Can be used for all types of boats with speed up to 25 knots in any brackish waters or lakes and on seas with the strictest regulations, like the ones affecting the Swedish east coast and the Netherlands.


Can sizes: 0,750 ltrs, 2,5 ltrs.

Hard polishing rate a/f, for any type of boats, max speed 40 knots, suitable for those who seek an economical solution for the season. Formulated with a new and modern technology and better performance, provides a very effective and economical solution for all types of boats.

• Racing

Pure hard matrix a/f, ideal for very high speed boats, with no max speed, or for those who requires high abrasion (trailered boats, etc.). Bright colours and colour stability in immersion. White and grey are copper oxide free products, suitable for aluminium substrates.

• Racing Ultraspeed

Thin film hard a/f, for regatta sailing boats. Product can withstand speeds up to 60 knots and is to be applied in thin coats. Its smooth surface enhances speed. The product dries quickly and does not require polishing, permitting fast haul-outs. Product is delivered with one single component !

Must be applied on top of Vinyl Primer only, or on top of other Teflon antifoulings (such as IP’s VC17 series)

To be applied by roller, avoid the use of brushes

Pour some quantity on the try and apply normally. Continuous stirring is recomended, at least every 3-5 min

Do not apply on aluminum hulls

Glossy thixotropic alkyd topcoat, ideal for wooden boats or when an economical solution is required. Available in multicolor bases so any colour can be tinted upon request.
