Flexiblepintypecouplingsarepositive-locking,torsionallyelastic,flexible shaft couplings with rubbery-elastic transmission ele-ments.Theyarefailsafeandpluggable.
Buffermaterialandbuffergeometryensureanoptimalbalancingbetweenresilienceandrestoringactionaswellasagooddam-pingbehavior.
Flexiblepintypecouplingsareavailableinvariousseriesandde-signs.
Theassignmentofdrivinganddrivesideisarbitrary.Duetotheassembly,thepincouplinghasasmallcircumferentialbacklash.Aftertheinstallationofthecoupling,itisrequiredtoalignthedriveaspreciselyaspossiblebecausetheextentofthedisplacementshave a decisive influence on the service life aswell as on therestoringforcesandtorques.
Thepermissiblevaluesspecifiedonpage12definethe limit forthesumofalignmenterrorsandoperationaldisplacements.
The operating temperature range is between -40 °C (-25 °C ifconstructedofgraycastiron)and,dependingonthebuffermate-rial,upto+100°C(+120°Carepossibleforashorttime).
Flexible pin type couplings exhibit progressive spring characte-ristics.
Bufferandboltsareinterchangeablewiththoseofearliermodels.Theselectionofmaterial for thepinandbuffercomponentsde-pendsontherotationalspeed.Whilegraycastironcanbeusedforlowrotationalspeedsitisrequiredtofallbackonsteelsolutionsincaseofhighspeeds.Availableasfurtherconstructivedesignsareweldeddesigns.Theconstructivedesign(weldedpartorduc-tile iron)ofsteel isdoneby themanufacturerdependingon thesize.

Thecoupling shall bedesignedaccording toDIN740, sheet2.Indoingso, it is required todimension thecouplingso that theoccurring stresseswon‘t exceed the permissible value in anyoperatingcondition.nominaltorque: TKN≥TN•stmaximumtorque: TKmax≥Tmax•st•sa
Here,thetemperaturefactorsttakesthereductionoftheresilienceofthecouplingbufferincaseofhigherenvironmentaltemperaturesintoaccount.
Incaseofstressofthecouplingduetoavibratorytorqueaswellasincaseoftorqueimpulsesandhighmomentsofinertiabetweendriveandoutputside,youshouldfallbacktoahighercalculationprocedure.
Thespecifiedcharacteristicvaluesrefertothematerialsteel forthecouplingcomponentsandthegroovedbuffermadeofNR-SBRwitha75ShoreAhardness.Changesarepossibleifothermaterialsareused.Ourtechnicalstaffwillhelptheuserwiththetechnicallycorrectdesignofthecouplingandthedimensioning.
