Él duda que funcione el agua caliente.
1.) Two different clauses (independent parts of a sentence) separated by the word “que” (that).
2.) Two different subjects, one on either side of the word “que”.
3.) A WEIRDO verb in the first clause, conjugated in the present indicative.
4.) A verb in the second clause, conjugated in the present subjunctive
