    DEFINITION OF TECHNOLOGY

Technology can be defined as all the knowledge, products, processes,

tools, methods, and systems employed in the creation of goods or inproviding services.

In simple terms, technology is the way we do things. It is the means by

which we accomplish objectives. Technology is the practicalimplementation of knowledge, a means of aiding human endeavor.

Technology consists of three interdependent, codetermining, and equally

important components (Zeleny 1986) : Hardware

    Software

    Brainware

    CONCLUSIONS

    Educational Programmes in North America

In the early stages, TM was taken up in terms of fewcourses/modules in a number of institutes.

Majority of the TM related degree programmes are at the

postgraduate level as Master of Science or MBA programmes

Very few institutes offer TM programmes at undergraduatelevel.

The major areas of importance and Management ofTechnology are Innovation and New Venture Management.
