How Does It Work?

The AMC SRU™ works by circulating drilling fluid directly from the drill collar to be processed by the shaker and centrifuge, where drill solids are separated from the mud slurry and discharged via a waste chute. After being processed, the cleaned drilling fluids flow into the tank to be returned to the drill rig. A conveniently positioned mixing system is then used to blend products into drilling fluids.

Powerful and Efficient Solids ControlThe most powerful SRU in our range, the AMC Surface SRU™ has a high-speed decanting centrifuge specifically adapted for diamond drilling. Operating up to 3,000rpm, this unit removes solids to less than 5 microns and keep drilling fluid in excellent rheological condition, all in a complete trailer or skid mounted design.

Proactive against fluid losses and borehole instability

Regular injections of AMC BOS FIX™ to the bottom of the drill string and up the annulus continually seals natural fractures and fissures, to stabilise the borehole, reduce down hole losses and occurrence of lost circulation.

Traditionally, LCMs are the first measure used to aid fluid losses. Depending on circumstances, LCM effectiveness may vary, potentially compromising the borehole annulus, causing stuck pipe, and resulting in unwanted rod tripping.

In cases of instability, casing may need to be applied, which requires unwanted rod trips. The AMC BOS™ creates a continuous and flexible casing to assist with loose, unconsolidated, fractured, caving, sloughing, swelling, high friction or washout zones.

Down the borehole, you can’t always predict when or how things will go wrong. AMC’s patent pending* Borehole Optimisation System™ (AMC BOS™) anticipates fluid loss, lost circulation and unstable zones, even in the most difficult conditions – making operations smoother and more predictable.

The AMC BOS™ comprises the AMC BOS UNIT™ an in-hole lubricating and casing while drilling tool, and AMC BOS FIX™ a rapid fill grout. The AMC BOS™ is a proactive solution combating fluid losses and borehole instability, by delivering a measured amount of AMC BOS FIX™ at regular intervals to the bottom of the drill string and up the annulus. The fluid reacts instantly with borehole fluids, permeating and sealing fractures, providing a thin but robust lubristic membrane to the borehole wall.

Unlike reactively using traditional methods, the AMC BOS™ is a preventative measure which can significantly improve diamond drilling productivity, at rig safety, reduce environmental impact and lower overall operational costs.

Drilling blindly may be a choice for drillers, but without treatment, reaming through unstable zones will increase borehole torque, rod trips, increase fluid consumption, risk prematurely worn out bits and reamers, collapse, contamination, stuck drill pipe, risk of injury and reduce ROP.

Cementing/grouting can take up to 48 hours, can be very costly, and introduces increased rod tripping with only a limited success rate of 50%. Consequences of cementing/grouting can far outweigh the process itself, including safety risk, rig downtime and increased costs such as vacuum trucks and consumables. With a proactive approach, the AMC BOS™ is a less risky alternative to variable or ineffective methods for fluid loss or borehole instability.

About AMC BOS FIX™

AMC BOS FIX™ can be injected into high pressure, high temperature, wet or dry environments. The fluid only activates when coming into contact with moisture, ensuring it is placed exactly where it is required and does not contaminate the core sample or the interior of the core barrel (if used correctly).

The unit takes less than 5 minutes to set up or refill, which can be done at any time during the drill shift, without interruption.

Reducing Mud and Water Consumption

How Does It Work?

AMC ULW SRU™ circulates drilling fluid from the drill collar to the centrifuge to separate drill solids from the mud slurry. The solids are then discharged via the unit’s waste chute. After processing, cleaned drilling fluid flows into a storage tank. The fluid is returned to the mixing tank before being reused.

The use of clean drilling fluids is essential for drilling productivity. The REFLEX EZ-TRAC 1.5™ is a digital downhole survey instrument that is multifunctional, easy to operate, highly accurate, robust and reliable. The REFLEX EZ-TRAC 1.5™ is able to transfer vital downhole data in real-time via our new android based REFLEX EZ-TRAC 1.5™ App available on a REFLEX supplied tablet. Built using our industry preferred user interface, the user friendly REFLEX EZ-TRAC 1.5™ App on handheld device will operate the tool, execute surveys and sync the data to the IMDEXHUB-IQ™ at the press of a button. Results are automatically calculated and displayed on the handheld device, eliminating the risk of human error, and survey data uploaded into IMDEXHUB-IQ™ can be accessed by geologists anywhere, any time. The REFLEX EZ-TRAC 1.5™ workflow is now more efficient, user friendly and with less steps involved reduces human errors. Minimum time is required to set up for surveying because the tool only requires aluminium extension rods to be added to place the instrument away from magnetic interference, caused by drilling equipment, and it is ready to use.

Highly Accurate

The REFLEX EZ-TRAC 1.5™ is a high precision magnetic and gravimetric instrument.

REFLEX ACT-IQ™ is a digital core orientation system that records the orientation of the core sample and other key data in core drilling operations. It has a patented rapid descent system that reduces time to complete core recovery. It delivers exceptional accuracy, while being easy to use and reliable in harsh field conditions and is the preferred core orientation system for drillers and geologists worldwide. Its high level of data accuracy leads to better understanding of the geological structure, ultimately resulting in enhanced drill program management and geotechnical planning.

Rugged and Reliable

The REFLEX ACT-IQ™ is designed to withstand the harshest conditions and treatment in the bottom-of-hole environment. It has a hardened steel outer casing and heat treated threads. Components are shock tolerant and able to withstand the high level of forces achieved during the drilling cycle. The unit can operate in temperatures of up to 80°C. It has a separate purpose designed hand held controller for communication with state of the art technology to ensure robustness and water resistance. Built with no moving parts and long life lithium batteries, the REFLEX ACT-IQ™ needs no maintenance and will operate for approximately 12 months under normal use.

Accurate Digital Data Collection

The REFLEX ACT-IQ™ controller displays accelerometer data collected via time stamping technology, including depth values (when entered at each orientation), inclination, roll, gravity, temperature and all button presses. Unique sequence logic prevents the recording of incorrect data and also eliminates operator error, ensuring more accurate data. Data stored on the controller cannot be manipulated and using REFLEX’s digital auditor software can be used for QA/QC and audit purposes, as well as operational performance and production analysis.

Improved Operational Efficiency

The REFLEX ACT-IQ™ is designed to improve productivity on-site. It is supplied as a two tool system, while one tool is down the hole, the other is ready for the next run, ensuring no interruption to drilling operations. Core samples are easily matched with orientation data using a simple to use leveling jig. Bottom or top orientation can be accurately transferred to any core sample. The controller also indicates if the downhole unit has encountered temperatures above its safe operating range, displayed on the LCD screen during data retrieval.

User-Friendly

REFLEX has matured digital depth encoders and developed this product to what the industry needs it to be. The device adjusts to allow for the wireline not being directly aligned. The user-friendly design can adapt to a variance in rod heights. The low maintenance design features an in section and cleaning window to allow easy access to the encoder wheel.

REFLEX IQ-LOGGER™Easy-to-use core logging solution provides fast, accurate structural measurements.

Accuracy & Ease of Use

The REFLEX IQ-LOGGER™ handheld structural logging device can simply be rolled along the orientation line on diamond core automatically recording depth and structural measurements can be taken at the press of a button.

Laser alignment with structures is far easier and more intuitive than current goniometers on the market, and there is no need to remove the core from the core tray to log.

QA/QC and data editing is done at the point of data collection to ensure accuracy, data then flows digitally, without the risk of alteration or error, from field to office.

Immediate Information

The REFLEX IQ-LOGGER™ software allows real-time viewing of structural measurements from oriented drillcore on a stereonet or similar and attribution of metadata against the structure for better decision making.

REFLEX IQ-LOGGER™


Operation

The REFLEX IQ-LOGGER™ solution allows users to gather accurate depth recordings with the flexibility to deal with zones of broken core by simply rolling along the orientation line. Once the handheld device is aligned with a structure of interest the orientation of the structure can be recorded with a press of a button. Data can be immediately verified via the in-built stereonet plot and exported to a USB or transferred digitally for immediate access. IMDEX’s ioGAS™ can then be used for further interpretation with other geoscience data.

REFLEX PRESS™Optimal pXRF samples at a lower cost.

Decreased Cost of Consumables

Common XRF cups tend to be expensive and time consuming to use. The REFLEX PRESS™ uses high pressure to convert powders to a coherent pressed puck without the need to use binders or costly containers. Removing the need to use sample cups equates to savings of up to $150 per day.

Increased Productivity

The custom designed die set and press provide a simplified process with fewer steps, allowing productivity to be increased, with consistency across all samples.

Accurate Data

The denser, flatter and more uniform puck provides a more reliable surface from which to gain a quality analysis. With no film required between the pXRF analyser and sample, the risk of a weaker or poor signal is eliminated. The same puck can also be used with other non-destructive testing techniques such as spectral analysis and LIBS.

The innovative REFLEX PRESS™ is a high-pressure hydraulic press designed to produce a densely-packed, homogenous, sample puck that can be measured by the pXRF (and a range of non-destructive sensors) without the signal attenuation resulting from the use of a film coating and/or poor packing. REFLEX PRESS™ is safe and reliable, engineered and constructed using only high quality, fit for purpose, products. It is also rugged and portable, ideal for use in field camps and onsite laboratories.

REFLEX PRESS™


Improved Analytics

The REFLEX PRESS™ comes with a custom designed funnel and sample die to ensure the highest quality, consistent and repeatable, sample puck ensuring data confidence and improved analysis, especially for light elements.

Using the pressed puck and the REFLEX XRF™, light elements such as AI have a consistently higher response (8 – 15%). This will flow through to decreased detection limits and better precision for light elements. The consistent workflow of the REFLEX PRESS™ will also reduce inter-sample variation resulting from poor packing of material and other inconsistencies, making data analysis more reliable.

Transportable

The REFLEX PRESS™ is light in weight compared to other commercial sample presses, being under 30kg. It can be safely transported in a robust and easy to pack, protective case.

In-field Geoanalysis

The REFLEX PRESS™ together with the REFLEX XRF™ Solution (which includes REFLEX XRF™, IMDEXHUB-IQ™ and ioGAS™) provides the first on-site geoanalysis solution available in the market. This enables decisions to be made on-site, saving both time and money.

Standard or Premium Puck

The REFLEX PRESS™ is provided with two separate dies for making the puck. The STANDARD puck is produced without a protective sleeve and is most useful for minimising costs when the sample will be discarded after analysis, or analysis is performed immediately after pressing. The PREMIUM puck is produced within a custom plastic sleeve that makes the sample very robust for longer term storage, potential re-assaying or archive, and reduces cleaning time after each sample. The plastic sleeves are sold in boxes of 500 and can be easily labelled for reference.

The oil mats are made of high quality fabric. The primary use is to recover oil (hydraulic and motor oil). Rolls come in mats of 38" X 144", 30" X 150" or in sheets of 15" X 15" and 15" X 19".
