    Vannessa,

Please see the attached map for Raleigh’s Pb_Cu monitoring sites (including the proposed sites served by DEB).

To select the new sites, I was following two criteria:

    1.   The house or building was constructed around 1984 (categorized as Tier 1), right before December 1985 when NC lead ban for

structures that contain copper pipes with lead solder, lead pipes, or are served by a lead service line. The construction year of

the buildings can be found in County’s property parcel GIS database.

    2.   Source of supply – in the last round of Pb_Cu site update, City decided to add new sites supplied by DEB. The information of

supply source was decided from the modeling output, as showing in the map.

Please let me know if I can provide further assistance.

    Thanks,

    Wayne Zhang, PhD, PE

    Hey Wayne,

Could you email me a copy of a map showing our lead and copper sites in the distribution system.

Also, when we updated the Lead and Copper sites in 2010 how did you select the sites?

    Thanks,

    Hi Wayne,

Yesterday, I met with the state concerning our Pb & Cu monitoring sites. They were okay with the number of sites we had

within the blending zones. They would like for us to increase the number of Tier 1 sites that are located in the area were DE

Benton will be supplying water. From looking at the attached map there were 8 locations for DE Benton, 10 locations for the

blending zones and the remaining locations are being supplied by EMJ. We had a total of 104 sites.

Do you think you could update the map with an additional 4 or 5 locations that are Tier 1 sites, were water is being supplied

    by the DE Benton Plant?

I have attached our current monitoring site plan along with our alternate Pb and Cu sites. In the Alternate sites there are 3

locations in Garner that will be supplied by DE Benton.
