St. James Summer Camp

July 8-12, 2019 (Mon-Fri mornings) This camp is for children entering Kindergarten – Grade 6 in September 2019. Youth Leaders (Grade 7-12) also required to help lead small groups. Registration Forms now available online, in

the Narthex or at the Parish Office!

ST. JAMES PARISH - SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION - 2019-2020 Registration available at the Parish office & on the Website

*Please note: If your child has not received any sacraments at St. James or St. Michael’s Church, a copy of their baptismal certificate must be given at the time of registration.*

First Reconciliation & First Communion

For students in Grade 2 & up who have re-ceived the Sacrament of Baptism. ALL CLASSES WILL BE MONDAYS 6:30pm-8pm. Parent and student are to attend each ses-sion and retreat. Reconciliation Sessions begin in October 2019 and First Communion Sessions begin March 2020.

Confirmation 2019 For students in Grade 6 and up. ALL CLASSES WILL BE MONDAYS 6:30pm-8pm. Parent & student to attend each session. Sessions begin in January 2020.

BAPTISM Registration takes place at the Parish Office. A Bap-tism Preparation session is required for the baptism of your first child. (Baptisms take place the 2nd and 4th Saturdays & Sundays of each month after the 5:30pm and 11am mass in Okotoks, and at the 9am Mass in Black Diamond. Cost is $20.00.

Sessions resume in September 2019. Documents required: *Birth Certificate of child

*Baptism Certificate of parent(s) *Annotated Baptismal Certificate of Godparent(s) This is a baptism certificate with the date of Confirmation as well.

MARRIAGE Phone the Parish Office at least 6 months before marriage and make an appointment. Marriage preparation sessions are mandatory for those pre-paring for marriage. Cost is $150.00 per couple. Sessions run Friday @ 7-9pm and continue Saturday @ 9am-4pm: Next Session Date TBD (October 2019)

Follow up meetings with a Sponsor couple take place after the weekend on your own time.

Rite of Christian Initiation These programs are designed for people of all ages who desire to be fully initiated into the Catholic Church or to receive the Catholic Sacraments they have missed. Registration is ongoing at the Parish Office for all programs.

of Children (RCIC) This program is designed for all children age 7 and older (grades 2 to 6) . Sessions are monthly at St. James Church.

of Teens (RCIT) This program is designed for all youth in grades 7-12. Sessions are twice per month at St. James Church.

of Adults (RCIA) This program is designed for all adults ages 18 & older. Sessions are weekly at St. James Church. Sacraments of Initiation for all ages are received at the Easter Vigil.

Registration for all sacraments will take place Monday, September 16th from 3pm-8pm in the Parish Hall.

“For you were called to freedom, brothers and

sisters. But do not use this freedom as an oppor-

tunity for the flesh; rather serve one another

through love.” (Galatians 5:13)

We like to celebrate the fact that we are free to

“live the good life.” But Jesus calls us to a dif-

ferent kind of freedom. St. Paul reminds us that

Jesus sets us free so that we can serve one an-

other, share our gifts and promote God’s work

here on earth to glorify His name and not honor

ourselves.

Stewardship Reflection

We are inviting parishioners to volunteer to

help with preparation of lunches for funerals in

our parish. There is a great need in the follow-

ing areas: evening preparation, morning prepa-

ration of sandwiches, and serving & cleaning

during the funeral. If you have some time to
