Why Lasers?

• Range of Colors

• Turn-on time nearly instantaneous

• Energy Efficient

Page 3: Laser Image Display

Work To Date: Power

• All parts are ordered

• Cannot test/work on circuits until all parts are in

• PCB designs completed

PCB: Power (System)

Page 6: Laser Image Display

Work To Date: Optics

• All parts ordered

• Cannot begin to test/work on anything until all of the parts come in

Page 7: Laser Image Display

Work To Date: Audio

• All parts ordered

• PCB design competed

• Circuit has been breadboarded

Work To Date: Programming

• Code for separating 3 component images completed

• Runs before the information is sent to microcontroller / Uses OpenCV to separate color information pixel by pixel

Page 12: Laser Image Display

Work To Date: Temperature Control

• PCB design • Ordered parts • Breadboarded circuit

Design Challenge: XCUBE Size

• The XCUBE measures 35mm (~1.4”) on a side

• Our TFT screens measure 3.5” diagonally or roughly 3” across

• This issue has been tested and resolved for the most part, the XCUBE was able to image a Television perfectly onto a wall, so we are no longer worried about this

Page 15: Laser Image Display

Design Challenge: Temp Sensor

• Testing of correct operation at high temperatures will be difficult to achieve

• We need to ensure that the cooling circuit will turn on at the high temperatures as designed

Page 16: Laser Image Display

Projected Work : Power

• Test the designs as parts come in

• Send PCB designs off to be made

• Implement the designs on the PCBs

• Do a final testing of the circuits

Page 17: Laser Image Display

Projected Work : Optics

• Finalize layout of lenses and lasers

• Test all components as they come in

• Mount all components for the final product

Page 18: Laser Image Display

Projected Work : Audio

• Send PCB design off to be made

• Finish the circuit

• Final testing of the circuit

Page 19: Laser Image Display

Projected Work: Programming

• Ensure TFT connections to communicate with processor

• Begin programming microcontrollers to input pixel information to TFT screens

Page 20: Laser Image Display

Projected Work: Cooling

• Test temperature IC

• Breadboard circuit with temperature IC

• Send PCB design off to be made

• Integrate cooling circuit to power supply
