LARRY AND KATHY LEVY Owners Biography Our owners, Larry and Kathy Levy, met in 1999 when Larry was referred by his doctor to do his post rehabilitation/therapy following shoulder surgery with Kathy. After training together for almost three years, they began dating in 2002 and married in June 2004. Larry’s diverse business background includes the lighting industry, garment manufacturing in the Orient and building custom homes in Cherry Creek. Larry was born in the Bronx, New York and attended high school in Teaneck, New Jersey and graduated from Monmouth University in New Jersey. Larry has resided in New York, New Jersey, Florida, Hong Kong and Colorado. In 1975, Larry sailed the Hawaiian Islands and the South Pacific for two years before returning to Colorado in 1997. Kathy grew up in Wisconsin, where she attended UW-L. She graduated with degrees in Health Education and Sports Science and minors in Sports Fitness and Psychology. Kathy’s spring break trips to various ski resorts in Colorado influenced her to move west after graduating in 1985. Her first job in fitness centers was with Bally’s (formerly Holiday Health Clubs) from 1985-1997. She held various positions, including membership sales, personal trainer, group instructor, training director and manager. She then started her own business as an independent Exercise Specialist. During this period, she met Larry and they began planning for and scouting locations and Matrix Fitness and Spa was born, opening in 2004. Larry and Kathy enjoy skiing, snowmobiling, boating, cycling, motorcycle riding, traveling and generally living an active outdoor Colorado lifestyle. They have two dogs, Tank and Capone, who constantly want them to spend time at their second home in Winter Park. They believe that fitness only enhances living your fullest life and being able to do what you enjoy long into your senior years. They strive to offer a beautiful, clean, top-of-the line facility while knowing that people, employees and members are what make Matrix a wonderful extended family. TEAM MATRIX
