Covell Widening, Fairfax to I-35 Southbound on/off rampsThis project will widen Covell to a four-lane divided roadway. There will be a section of widening east ofSooner six lanes wide to accommodate future commercial development. There will be left and right turn lanes at major commercial driveways. The project includes street lighting and a signal at Sooner and Covell.

Covell and Santa Fe, Covell and BryantShort term improvements include construction of left turn lanes and left turn signal phasing. The project is fund with 100% City funds estimated at $1,500,000. Construction plans are currently being developed. The anticipated start date is spring/summer 2015.

Covell, Broadway to FairfaxThis project will widen Covell to provide for a four lane divided roadway where possible. There will be left turn lanes at all side streets where possible. Covell may also include street lighting, 10 foot wide multi-use paths/sidewalks and landscaping.

Covell, Santa Fe to West City LimitsThis project will widen Covell to provide for a four lane divided roadway. There will be left turn lanes at all side streets. Covell will also include street lighting, bike paths and landscaping. Several new bridge structures will be required at the Santa Fe intersection.

Expanding Covell Road to match area growth

• Hilton Garden Inn 133,033 SF, 158-guest rooms and conference center currently under construction with completion scheduled for 2016.

• Summit Sports Complex 155,000 SF, facility with 8 basketball courts, 16 volleyball courts, 2 indoor soccer fields, fitness and personal training, medical and physical therapy services and dining. The project is scheduled to complete in 2016.

• McDonald’s The new restaurant is proposed for the SW corner of I-35 and Covell.

• Veraden Assisted Living 154,315 SF, 143-unit assisted living center is under construction with completion scheduled for 2016.

• Walmart Neighborhood Store The new grocery store is proposed for the NW corner of Covell and Coltrane.

• Edmond High School Edmond has purchased an 80-acre site for the 4th Edmond High school to be constructed in 2021 at the SE corner of Air Depot and Covell.
