Hello Brothers,

Warm weather is coming don’t worry. And for sure getting our

share of rain.

Our condolences to Brother Sonny Thomas on the loss of his wife

Joan. Brother Howard Bowen (Bo) will be undergoing a procedure

to put in a stint. Keep them in your thoughts.

The District 3 Chili Cookoff was postponed till March 3 at Callao.

So if you wanted to but couldn’t, here’s your chance. The Lodge will pay the entrance fee.

Need to notify us. Wish our team(s) luck.

March 10th, we will be cooking Brunswick Stew for the District. Kenny Hammell is chief

cook on this endeavor. That said, he can’t do it by himself. Will need help Friday night

March 9th for some prep work. And then start Saturday morning about 8ish cooking.

Heck – if you don’t have a skill, you can come criticize. Your Governor will be offering

bloody marys on Saturday morning as an enticement. There will be stew for sale that

afternoon in the Lodge at $8.00/qt. I’ve sampled Kenny’s previous attempts and he is good

at making stew. Ok, how about excellent.

Our February breakfast was pretty successful. Fed 70 people. Remember February and

March profits go to Fire Department ond Rescue Squad. Might be on our way to break the

$500 mark. But can’t do it without your help. Come on out in March.

Our Sunday dinners continue to be a success. Check elsewhere in the newsletter to

determine what Tim and Karen are cooking. Guaranteed it’ll be good. Monday nights are

also doing well. Again check the newsletter for what’s cooking. Has to be something you

like on either night.

OK Rant on. In the closing ceremony of the Lodge ritual there is a part that goes – What

is the duty of every Moose member? Response is – Refrain from discussing the business of

this Lodge outside of these walls or in the presence of non-menbers. I’ve heard rumors –

not so good – of people talking about things that may or may not have occurred in the

Lodge. We work very hard to keep our good name within the community. We conduct

meetings twice a month to keep members informed as to the business of the Lodge. I

would ask all members to keep the above in mind. If you care enough to talk about the

“business” of the Lodge, then you are encouraged to attend meetings periodically to keep

yourself informed. In short – What you see at the Lodge – What you say at the Lodge –

What you hear at the Lodge – Stays at the Lodge. If you have comments, please see me or

a Board member – there’s eight of us. Rant off.

Till next month. See ya at the Lodge.

Harry
