WHAT FAMILIES CAN EXPECT WHEN SCHOOLS REOPEN The health and safety of our students, staff, and families is of utmost importance. When the 2020-2021 school

year begins in Lamont Elementary School District, our campuses will look much different than previous years due

to new health and safety measures. Each school will be developing plans to reopen based on guidance from

public health officials and state agencies. District plans will be updated as the situation evolves .

It is important to note that our district's plans focus mainly on academic instruction to enhance student

performance and address learning loss. At the same time, we will also try our best to maintain the extracurricular

programs, clubs, and athletics that are so important to the physical, mental , and social

well-being of our students.

WHEN SCHOOLS RESUME IN JULY, THEY WILL LOOK DIFFERENT.

HERE IS WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT: Schools will reopen with a continuum of options

that include on-campus and remote learning. The following health and safety guidance has been recommended by the Public Health for the reopening of

schools based on current information and will be updated as the situation changes.

Screening at Home • Families are recommended to take temperatures

daily before going to school. Anyone with a fever

of 100.4 or higher should not go to a school site.

• Students and adults should also screen

themselves for respiratory symptoms such as

cough and shortness of breath prior to coming

to school each day. Students and adults

experiencing those symptoms should not

attend school.

Arriving at School • Staff and students will be wearing face coverings.

• Students will arrive on buses with fewer students.

• Parents and visitors will have limited access to

the school campus.

• Arrival and dismissal times will vary depending on

grade level.

General Safety Precautions Throughout the Day • Schools will follow disinfection guidelines developed by the Center for Disease

Control and Prevention (CDC) for school campuses including classrooms,

workspaces, outdoor spaces, and playgrounds.

• Physical barriers may be installed where social distancing is not possible.

• All students and staff will be encouraged to wash/clean their hands regularly.

* Handwashing stations with soap and/or hand sanitizer will be made available in classrooms.

• Schools will limit sharing of supplies between students and disinfect between uses if sharing

is unavoidable.

Other Safety Considerations • Face coverings should be worn by staff and students (particularly older students), as feasible, and

are most essential in times when physical distancing is difficult.

• Face coverings may be challenging for students (especially younger students) to wear in all-day

settings such as school.

• Gloves are not recommended for use by students or staff, with the exception of those conducting

duties such as cleaning, first aid, or food service.

Social distancing will help limit the spread of the virus. Our schools will be implementing the following

strategies to maintain smaller groups of students in shared spaces:

• Modify school schedules

• Limit visitors on campus

• Keep students in smaller groups

• Serve meals in small group settings

• Space desks further apart to ensure a

minimum of 6 feet distance between

students

• Serve individually plated or boxed meals

• Where possible, keep student

cohorts from mixing

• Stagger lunches, recesses, and

other transition times

• Do not host large gatherings such

as assemblies and dances

• When feasible, identify a sick room for

students who are not feeling well to

minimize contact with others until

they are able to go home

BECAUSE OF THE NEED FOR SOCIAL DISTANCING, EVERY CHILD CANNOT BE ON CAMPUS AT THE SAME TIME.

Quality instruction and a commitment to equity for ALL students continue to be the cornerstone to the

success of educational programs. Our district will make decisions based on available resources, local

needs, and state policy. In order to maintain social distancing, our schools will be utilizing a “Hybrid

Model” that combines distance learning and on-campus instruction. Some examples may include

smaller class sizes where students attend classes for a portion of the week and/or reduced hours per

day to maintain social distancing requirements. Schedules may change throughout the year.

Schools will work with students and families to ensure equity and access to quality instruction.

Accommodations for students with disabilities, students with diverse learning needs, students who

are medically vulnerable, and English learners will be made as needed.

ATTENDING TO THE SOCIAL EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING OF OUR STUDENTS WILL BE A TOP

PRIORITY AS THEY RETURN TO SCHOOL.

District and school staffs are committed to supporting students' social

emotional wellness and offering resources to ensure students transition

back to school smoothly. Support may include social emotional learning,

building relationships, and increased access to mental health/wellness

services. Families and schools will need to work together to check how

students are feeling and assess their individual needs to provide the

support our students need during these challenging times.

IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING, ACTIVITIES THAT REQUIRE STUDENTS TO CONGREGATE WILL

BE LIMITED AND MODIFIED AS GUIDELINES CHANGE.

LO QUE PUEDEN ESPERAR LAS FAMILIAS CUANDO LAS ESCUELAS VUELVAN A ABRIR La salud y seguridad de nuestros estudiantes, personal y familias es de suma importancia. Cuando comience el año escolar

2020-2021 en el Distrito Escolar Primario de Lamont, nuestras escuelas se verán muy diferentes a los de años anteriores

debido a las nuevas medidas de salud y seguridad. Cada escuela desarrollara planes para reabrir en base a las

recomendaciones de los funcionarios de salud pública y las agencias estatales. Los planes del distrito se actualizarán a

medida que evolucione la situación.

Es importante tener en cuenta que nuestro plan del distrito debe enfocarse principalmente en la instrucción académica para

mejorar el rendimiento de los estudiantes y abordar la perdida de aprendizaje. Al mismo tiempo, también haremos todo lo

posible para mantener los programas extracurriculares, clubes y atletismo que son tan importantes para el bienestar físico,

mental y social de nuestros estudiantes.

AQUI ESTA LO QUE PUEDE ESPERAR: Las escuelas volverán a abrir con un continuo de opciones

que incluyen el aprendizaje en el campus y a distancia. La siguiente recomendación de salud y seguridad ha sido recomendada por la Salud Publica para reabrir

las escuelas con base en la información actual y se actualizara a medida que cambie la situación.

Revision en casa • Se recomienda que las familias tomen

Precauciones generales de seguridad durante todo el día • Las escuelas seguirán las recomendaciones de desinfección desarrolladas por el Centro para el

Control y la Prevención de Enfermedades (CDC) para los planteles escolares, incluyendo

los salones de clase, espacios de trabajo, espacios al aire libre y patio de recreo.

• Se pueden instalar barreras físicas donde el distanciamiento social no es posible.

• Se les promoverá a todos los estudiantes y al personal a lavarse / limpiarse las manos regularmente.

* Las estaciones de lavado de manos con jabón y/o desinfectante de manos estarán disponibles en los salones.

• Las escuelas limitaran el intercambio de suministros entre estudiantes y desinfectara entre

usos si el intercambio es inevitable.

Otras consideraciones de seguridad • El personal y los estudiantes (especialmente los estudiantes mayores) deben usar cubiertas faciales

según sea posible, y son más esenciales en momentos en que el distanciamiento físico es difícil.

• Las cubiertas faciales pueden ser un desafío para los estudiantes (especialmente los

estudiantes mas jóvenes) para usar en el entorno de todo el día en la escuela.

• El uso de guantes no se recomienda para los estudiantes o personal, con la excepción de

aquellos que realizan tareas como limpieza, primeros auxilios o servicio de alimentos.

El distanciamiento social ayudara a limitar la propagación del virus. Nuestras escuelas implementaran las

siguientes estrategias para mantener grupos más pequeños de estudiantes en espacios compartidos:

• Modificar horarios escolares

La instrucción de calidad y el compromiso con la equidad para TODOS los estudiantes continúan

siendo el fundamento del éxito de los programas educativos. Nuestro distrito tomara decisiones

basadas en los recursos disponibles, las necesidades locales y la política estatal. Para mantener el

distanciamiento social, nuestras escuelas utilizaran un “Modelo Hibrido” que combina el aprendizaje

a distancia y la instrucción en el campus. Algunos ejemplos pueden incluir clases más pequeñas

donde los estudiantes asisten a clases durante una parte de la semana y/o horas reducidas por día

para mantener los requisitos de distanciamiento social. Los horarios pueden cambiar durante todo el

año.

Las escuelas trabajaran con los estudiantes y las familias para garantizar la equidad y el acceso a una enseñanza

de calidad. Se harán adaptaciones para estudiantes con discapacidades, estudiantes con diversas necesidades de

aprendizaje, estudiantes que son medicamente vulnerables y aprendices de inglés según sea necesario.

ATENDER EL BIENESTAR SOCIAL Y EMOCIONAL DE NUESTROS ESTUDIANTES SERÁ UNA PRIORIDAD CUANDO

REGRESEN A LA ESCUELA.El personal del distrito y de la escuela se compromete a apoyar el

bienestar social y emocional de los estudiantes y a ofrecer recursos para

garantizar que los estudiantes vuelvan a la escuela sin problemas. El

apoyo puede incluir el aprendizaje social y emocional, la creación de

relaciones y un mayor acceso a los servicios de salud mental / bienestar.

Las familias y las escuelas deberán trabajar juntas para verificar como

se sienten los estudiantes y evaluar sus necesidades individuales para

brindar el apoyo que nuestros estudiantes necesitan durante estos

tiempos difíciles.

PARA MANTENER LA DISTANCIA SOCIAL, LAS ACTIVIDADES QUE REQUIEREN QUE LOS ESTUDIANTES SE CONGREGEN SERÁN LIMITADAS Y MODIFICADAS COMO CAMBIEN LAS NORMAS.
