Welcome to the 2020 Lake Oswego Laker Softball Season. Over the past few years, our softball team has been making steady improvement on their way to competing in the Three Rivers League. After a heartbreaking loss in the first
round of the 2019 OSAA Playoffs, the Lakers 2020 campaign is looking to be one of the best in quite some time. The excitement of a great team and newer facilities have been something the district is looking forward to seeing this year.
With the realization of these brand new facilities we have, it is important to thank the past, present and future players of Lake Oswego Softball. In addition to the players, we have had an excellent support group of parents and community members in the process of building and getting the needs to the district office to make them first class. A final thank you to our previous Superintendent, Dr. Michael Musick, as well as our school board who had the vision of equality within our schools, and worked tirelessly to achieve this. Without the collaboration efforts and continuous focus on Title IX and gender equity from all of the parties listed above, we would not have the wonderful place that is now the “Home of Lake Oswego Laker Softball.”
The Softball team plays all of their home games on FieldTurf ® field. This is incredibly helpful to the team and season as not only can we play in all-weather the Pacific Northwest brings during the spring, but we can also maintain the schedule that is in place so we do not have to make up games late in the season.
This off season, we have also been thrilled to have a hitting facility for the team to be able to use as well. Not only does this facility have hitting tunnels, but it also has a team room, concession stand, and press box available for game day! This addition has been used all year long and it serves so many of our deserving softball players. This will be another key tool in getting our softball team to compete with the best teams in the state on a consistent basis.
All of these new additions to the softball team from the school district will be an incredible asset to our Head Coach Chris Gobel and his staff while they continue to make strides toward the Three Rivers League Championship!
Thank you so much for coming to Lake Oswego High School to support our team! We are excited to share the excitement of the upcoming year with you!
Sincerely,
Brigham BakerAthletic Director

Welcome Laker fans and families! Your Laker coaching staff is really looking forward to our 2020 season. Coach Tee and I are heading into our fifth season together coaching our Lakers. It has been an incredible honor to coach and be part of this fantastic school and softball program.
Having our brand-new turf field, hitting barn, team room, and concession stand this year, truly makes a significant difference to our Lake Oswego softball community. As well as a sense of pride in our Laker teams! The investment in our new sound system for our hitting barn as well as a quality PA system for our field will make watching quality 6A softball much more enjoyable and entertaining.
This year’s team is excited for the season to start, driven to compete hard and is focused on improving each day both offensively and defensibly. Starting with our senior Captain Maddie Sticka, who transferred last year and was recognized in a very competitive Three Rivers League as a Second Team All-League selection as an outfielder. She signed her letter of intent to play Softball at Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Also lead by three Juniors who were recognized last year as Honorable Mention players, Captain Allison Sweeney Catcher, Lily Cuyuch Utility player, and Sofia Tosoni infield.
Both teams and our coaches appreciate all the support we continue to receive from the community and softball families.
GO LAKERS!!!
