Phillips Chief Judge VTAC Three Specialized Problem Solving Courts Drug Court – 2005 Mental Health Court – 2007 Veterans Treatment and Assistance Court ‐ 2011 VTAC Drug Court Mission: Break the cycle of addiction, break the cycle of crime. Target Population: High Risk/High Need, substance use (or co‐occurring) disordered felony offenders. We are a prison diversion program. Team: Judge, Probation, State’s Attorney, Public Defender, Bridgehouse, Haymarket, Jail Officials, Nicasa and LCHD. Meets weekly to discuss clients appearing in court. Staff incoming cases. Court: Evidence shows interaction with Judge has positive impact on reducing recidivism. Frequency of appearances are determined by phase.

VTACLake County Veteran Treatment and Assistance Court (VTAC)

SupervisionCase by case and according to risk level.

Reporting can be as high as 3x/week or as low as once per month. High risk clients are automatically referred to surveillance unit for random home visits.

Drug/alcohol testing is done often on co-occurring clients, at least once per week in the field or in the office.
