WHAT IS MAKE A WISH?

The Make-A-Wish foundation was found to help children with life threatening disease. The foundation grants children with terminal illnesses one wish with the hopes to give the child and their family a memory that will last them a lifetime.

How it began

• The Make-A-Wish Foundation was first discovered 1980 when Chris Greicius, a 7 year old boy realized he had leukemia. He wanted to fulfill he one wish of becoming a police officer. His wish came true on May 1, 1980 but sadly died the next day because of his illness. Although he died at such a young age he passed with the gratitude of being able to achieve his dream which gave him hope, strength, and most of all one good day to always remember.

Mission Statement:

• “We grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to

enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.”
