Ci hanno definito degli incoscienti, ma siamo solo dei ragazzi che hanno creduto in un sogno e continuano a viverlo e a coltivarlo.

Da otto anni costruiamo con pazienza e passione uno spazio/tempo di incontro e di scambio creando relazioni e portando il mondo a casa nostra, perché crediamo sia il luogo più bello, perché racconta la nostra storia e ha bi-sogno di ossigeno per vivere e crescere.

Siamo un gruppo di ragazzi che negli anni è cresciuto; crediamo e ci auguriamo che altri possano imparare a loro volta facendo e crean-do. Che sia per loro come per noi: un’urgenza, un bisogno di vivere semplicemente, dove il come diventa la parte più importante.

Grazie a chi ci ha aiutato perché ci ha cap-ito e a chi non ci ha capito perché ci ha fatto crescere, grazie a tutti. Il Lago Film Fest è sem-plicemente vita, credere e sapere che tutto è possibile. Abbiamo iniziato sognando e ora non riusciamo più a smettere.

LA ReGIONe DeL VeNeTO

Nell’ambito delle iniziative sostenute dalla Regione del Veneto attraverso la legge region-ale n.2/2003, art.22 “Iniziative di promozione e valorizzazione dell’Identità veneta”, un posto particolare è occupato dal “Lago Film Fest”, appuntamento che da alcuni anni contribuisce a valorizzare il suggestivo territorio di Revine Lago, richiamandovi un attento ad appassiona-to pubblico.

La manifestazione si connota come mo-mento importante dell’estate veneta, quindi, sia perché costituisce occasione di incontro ed aggregazione sia per la qualità delle produzi-oni che vengono presentate e per la profondità dei temi trattati, incentrati in questa edizione sull’inchiesta giornalistica. Prodotti di qual-ità, ai quali riconosciamo un ruolo importante per la crescita e lo sviluppo del territorio, sia in termini culturali che economici. Un progetto a cui la Regione del Veneto ha creduto forte-mente, sostenendolo con convinzione, e che quest’anno ha raccolto un importante risultato, rappresentato dal “Premio Città Impresa – Idee per far crescere l’Italia”, assegnato agli organ-izzatori dal Ministro delle Infrastrutture e dello Sviluppo Economico Corrado Passera, per “il contributo portato, attraverso la sua attività creativa, allo sviluppo economico, sociale e cul-turale del Nordest e dell’intero Paese”.

Un sincero ringraziamento perciò a tutti coloro che in questi anni hanno reso possibile questo evento, che contribuisce alla valoriz-zazione del nostro territorio e del suo patrimo-nio culturale, stabilendo nel contempo un terre-no di scambio e confronto di idee, fondamento per la costruzione di un futuro migliore.

LA PROVINCIA DI TReVISO

Lago Film Fest non manca mai di emozion-armi. Un festival internazionale di qualità, dedi-cato al mondo dei cortometraggi e del cinema breve, realizzato nella magnifica cornice dei laghi di Revine. Una rassegna che anima un piccolo borgo trevigiano, rappresentando al meglio il filo conduttore di RetEventi: la Marca Trevigiana, infatti, è un territorio dalle carat-

teristiche peculiari, un’area agropolitana dove città e campagna si fondono in un vero e pro-prio palcoscenico naturale, un teatro diffuso dove la cultura può trovare sedi ed espressioni sempre nuove.

Anche quest'anno, artisti da tutto il mondo arriveranno sulle pendici del lago per prendere parte all'evento. Non posso allora che compli-mentarmi con la giovane ma preparatissima organizzazione per il lavoro svolto, augurando la miglior riuscita di questa edizione.

IL COMUNe DI ReVINe LAGO

L’estrusione dei “ tempi morti”, l’espulsione, per così dire, di quegli immancabili intermezzi opachi, propri della vita reale, in un meccanis-mo di sottrazione, sono forse ciò che fa del cin-ema (etimologicamente: movimento) la lanterna magica, l’arte onirica per eccellenza. Non cas-ualmente, in certe occasioni, si dice “ ho visto in un attimo la mia vita, come in un film!”. Elisione, quindi, e condensazione.

Come in un grande quadro, dove tutto ciò che è inutile viene omesso; o in una scultura, per ottenere la quale viene sgrezzata una materia per sé informe, allontanandone una parte da quel nucleo, in essa incluso, che è l’opera d’arte. Se tale principio è vero per un film, è ancor più severo, più rigoroso, per un cortometraggio. Nello stesso rapporto che sta fra un romanzo di ampio respiro ed una lacon-ica, lapidaria poesia. Arte di eccellenza quindi, quest’ultima, arte di sublime sintesi, di uso sapi-ente del tempo (l’unica vera ricchezza, fugace ahimè, dell’uomo…); alla quale possono accos-tarsi, come abbiamo avuto modo di osservare

nelle ormai numerose edizioni del “Lago Film Fest”, solo cineasti di rango, dotati di fantasia, di profondità narrativa, di assoluto gusto esteti-co, che non può né deve ammettere cali di tono.

Aggiungo ancora, di quella capacità sugges-tiva che tutti abbiamo voluto, almeno una volta nella vita, possedere: quella di fermare l’attimo (come nella richiesta di Faust al demonio, sprezzantemente in baratto con l’anima…); di trattenere un minuto, una manciata di secondi magari, ma densissimi, ad imprigionare un vol-to, un paesaggio, un ricordo, un gesto d’amore (irripetibili altrimenti), in una cineteca posta dentro il nostro cuore, in sfida al tempo. Né un fotogramma di più di questo. Né uno di meno. E tutto questo Viviana Carlet vuol far vivere e partecipe l’intera nostra comunità.

Ogni fanciullo ha un diritto inerente alla vita, alla sopravvivenza e allo sviluppo. Ogni giorno muoiono nel mondo 22000 bambini sotto i 5 anni per cause che possono essere facilmente prevenute. L'Unicef lavora per porre fine a queste morti inaccettabili, perché non c'è tra-gedia più grande della morte di un bambino. Soprattutto se pensiamo che nell'assoluta maggioranza dei casi, a spezzare una vita ap-pena iniziata non sono mali incurabili o incidenti imprevedibili, ma banalissimi malattie come la polio, il tetano, la febbre gialla e il morbillo che si possono prevenire o curare con pochi cen-tesimi. Salvare le vite dei bambini è anche una questione di volontà.

Bentornato, Lago Film Fest! Come Comitato Provinciale delle Pro Loco Trevigiane non pos-siamo che essere felici della straordinaria crescita che questo festival ha avuto negli ultimi anni, un successo dovuto anche all'impegno e al duro lavoro di una delle “nostre” Pro Loco: la Pro Loco di Revine Lago, che è parte attiva nell'organizzazione e nella gestione di questa rassegna.

È un piacere per noi poter ospitare alcune proiezioni del festival al Parco Archeologico Di-dattico del Livelet, che l'UNPLI Treviso gestisce in convenzione con la Provincia di Treviso e con l'Amministrazione Comunale di Revine Lago. Riteniamo importantissima la collaborazione-anzi la sinergia, con le altre realtà del territorio:

è l'unica via per crescere e rafforzarsi. E, considerando quanto sono cresciuti in

IT/ Max Hattler, oltre ad essere membro della giuria, porterà a Lago una selezione dei suoi lavori più interessanti. Un’occasione unica per conoscere da vicino un personaggio di fama internazionale.

«È lo spazio fra astrazione e raffigurazio-ne a interessarmi, dove il racconto si libera dai vincoli della narrativa tradizionale. La mia opera contempla microcosmi, istanti, atmosfere: il primo piano come riflesso del più vasto insieme. Nonostante i miei film facciano spesso a meno dei dialoghi, sono tesi a esplorare il rapporto fra suono, mu-sica e immagine in movimento». MAX HATTLeR

IT/ Quarant’anni fa gli abitanti del Veneto erano poveri contadini costretti a emigra-re per sopravvivere. Oggi la loro terra è una delle aree industriali più ricche d’Eu-ropa, una delle regioni a più alta percen-tuale di immigrati, e dominata politica-mente dalla Lega Nord. Attraverso diversi incontri con l’umanità più varia e tipica di questa zona, in giardini e capannoni, da casalinghe particolari a insoliti impren-ditori, emerge il ritratto di un territorio dove comico e tragico spesso coesistono.

Dalle parole della regista Laura Lazza-rin: «Il film affronta i problemi delle mo-derne società occidentali. Questa regione era povera, oggi è ricca. Le persone sono ossessionate dal lavoro e dai soldi, dal so-spetto verso chi è ‘diverso’ e dalla paura di perdere quello che hanno. Nonostante il senso di tristezza per questa terra ‘perdu-ta’, la mia terra, ero alla ricerca di qualche frammento di poesia: senza la pretesa di fornire un quadro analitico o di dare solu-

zioni, ma sempre sperando in un modo più umano di sentire e di vivere».

eN/ Forty years ago people in Veneto were poor farm workers who had to emigrate to earn their living. Today their land is one of the wealthiest industrial areas in Europe, one of the regions with the highest rate of immigrate population, and politically ruled by the Northern League. Through various encounters with a typical bunch

of characters from this region, in gardens and warehouses, from special housewives to unusual entrepreneurs, a portrait emerges of a land where the comic and the tragic often coexist.

As told by the director, Laura Lazzarin: «The film faces the problems of modern Western societies. This region was poor, today it’s wealthy. People are obsessed with work and money, with the distrust of anyone who is ‘different’ and with the fear of losing what they own. Despite feeling sad for this ‘lost’ land, my homeland, I was looking for some poetry: without preten-tions to convey an analytical picture of the situation, or to put forward solutions, but still hoping for a more humane way of feel-ing and living».

IT/ Il regista David Moreno, vincitore del Premio della Giuria e del Premio del Pub-blico al Lago Film Fest 2009 con il film “Socarrat”, ha scelto il Lago Film Fest per l’anteprima internazionale del suo nuovo film. “Zombi” è la storia di una famiglia come tante e dei differenti modi con cui ognuno dei suoi membri affronta una do-lorosa realtà, la malattia del nonno.

Una malattia che mette a dura prova le convinzioni personali riguardo cosa è giu-sto fare o non fare, che fa oscillare anche i propri legami familiari... E che finisce per portare alla luce una verità scomoda: la felicità si conquista agendo con amore, generosità e comprensione...

Qualunque sia il modo in cui siamo fat-ti, qualsiasi cosa facciamo.

premiere of his new film. “Zombi” tells a story about a common family and how each one of its members faces a distressing truth, the illness of the grandfather.

An illness which puts a strain on one’s personal convictions about what to do or not to do in particular situations, and which generates important difficulties for family ties...

This illness will reveal, in the end, an uncomfortable truth: happyness can be gained throughout, with love, generosity and comprehension... Whoever we are, whatever we do.

RePORTLA DIVINA PROVVIDeNZA

WHAT MUST Be TOLD

IT/ Ci sono storie che sono necessarie, nel senso che proprio loro, e non altre, devo-no essere raccontate. Una di queste è di sicuro quella dell’ospedale San Raffaele e del suo fondatore don Luigi Verzé, perché è una storia enorme, anzi è un cumulo di storie, tutte drammaticamente italiane. Me ne ero già occupato in passato, avendo realizzato diverse inchieste sulla sanità che raccontavano le ambiguità del sistema dei DRG e dei rimborsi, la carenza dei controlli e le responsabilità della politica. Già allora don Verzé aveva rifiutato di incontrarmi per un’intervista. Eppure il San Raffaele era sempre stato l’istituto più foraggiato e quello più adulato da stampa e istituzioni. Assieme al suo fondatore, di cui, al massi-mo, si sottolineava, con affettuosità nem-meno troppo velate, una generica tendenza alla megalomania, di certo non sufficiente a oscurare il più importante e ricco centro di salute e di ricerca in Italia.

Ma le cose, ovviamente, stavano in ma-

niera ben diversa: sotto quella cupola ec-cessiva e imponente, innalzata alle porte di Milano, si nascondevano un portentoso sistema di malaffare e di corruzione, e una montagna di debiti, una bancarotta da un miliardo e mezzo di euro. E don Verzé non era solo un sacerdote un po’ eretico e visio-nario, era un uomo potentissimo e senza scrupoli. L’eccellenza medica, per decen-ni, ha convissuto con gli affari, i jet privati, le consulenze false, i fondi neri, la finanza sporca, le fazendas brasiliane, i festini, i soci improbabili, i soldi in odore di mafia e l’odore dei reati peggiori, i servizi segreti (quelli un po’ deviati).

Era un sistema solidissimo, quello co-struito da don Verzé, sotto la protezione della sua misteriosa comunità religiosa dei Sigilli e soprattutto della sua Fondazione: nessuna ingerenza e nessun obbligo di pub-blicazione dei bilanci. Un sistema solidissi-mo, coltivato dalla Prima repubblica (Craxi e Andreotti) e dalla Seconda (Berlusconi e


Formigoni), portato però all’esasperazione e quindi destinato al collasso. Con “La di-vina provvidenza” abbiamo provato a rac-contarla, questa storia necessaria, parten-do dal suicidio di Mario Cal, il fidatissimo braccio destro di don Verzé, e come in un thriller abbiamo seguito la pista dei soldi: siamo finiti tra i mango e l’uva senza semi del Brasile e nel cuore della Nuova Zelanda. E poi la Sardegna, la Puglia e Roma, la città del Vaticano. Le ville sparse qua e là, quel-le con la piscina per godersi la vita e quelle date ai servizi segreti per i centri d’ascolto abusivi. Che fosse necessaria, questa storia, lo ha dimostrato anche il pubblico, che ci ha seguito come mai in passato.

eN/ Some stories are necessary, since they are the only ones that really must be told. Undoubtedly one of these is that of the San Raffaele Hospital and its founder, the priest Don Luigi Verzé, for it is an enor-mous story, or rather a heap of stories, each of them dramatically italian. I had already dealt with this story before, making sev-eral inquiry reportages that shed light on the ambiguities of the DRG system and of public health reimbursements, with lack of controls and grave political responsibili-ties. Even at that time Don Verzé refused to meet me for an interview; yet San Raffaele had always been, among health institutes, the most bankrolled and the most flattered by press and politics, together which its founder, who was at most characterised, with an even not-too-veiled tenderness, as generically prone to megalomania, some-thing that was certainly not enough to cast a shadow over the most important and best-funded health care and research institute in Italy.

But, obviously, things were very dif-ferent: that excessive and imposing dome, erected on the edge of Milan, hid a porten-tous system of malfeasance and corrup-

tion, a mountain of debt, a 1.5 billion euro bankruptcy. And Don Verzé was not just a somewhat ‘heretic’ and visionary priest, he was an extremely powerful and unscru-pulous man. Medical excellence coexisted for decades with business, private jets, fake consultancies, slush funds, opaque finance, Brazilian fazendas, questionable parties, improbable associates, money smelling of mafia, the smell of the worst offences, and some disloyal secret service. The system was absolutely solid, and built by Don Ver-zé under the protection of his mysterious religious community and, above all, of his Foundation, a type of organisation that im-plied no meddling and no requirement of financial statements.

An absolutely solid system, fostered by both the First and the Second Republic, but led past the tolerance point, and therefore doomed to collapse. With “Divine Provi-dence” we tried to tell this necessary story, starting off with the suicide of Mario Cal,

Verzé’s faithful right-hand man, and just like in a thriller we followed the money: we ended up among Brazilian mangoes and grapes without seeds, and in the heart of New Zealand. And afterwards in Sardinia, Apulia, Rome and Vatican City. Several villas here and there, those with a pool to enjoy life, and those handed to the secrete service as bases for illegitimate telephone tapping. The evidence that this story was necessary was given also by the audience, that followed us like never before.

IT/ Concorto è una organizzazione non-pro-fit con uno staff di una trentina di persone sostenuta da organizzazioni pubbliche e da sponsor privati. Il festival, che si prepara alla sua undicesima edizione, si tiene a Par-co Raggio, un affascinante angolo verde a Pontenure, in provincia di Piacenza.

L’ottantina di corti proiettati ogni anno, di lunghezza non superiore ai 20 minuti, viene scelta dalla direzione artistica del fe-stival e sottoposta a una giuria internazio-nale composta da 5 membri. Parallelamen-te alla competizione, Concorto organizza alcuni eventi speciali (nel 2011 una Notte Horror e un concerto in collaborazione con il Piacenza Jazz Fest) e una retrospettiva sulla filmografia di un Paese straniero.

A questo proposito, dopo i programmi dedicati alla Polonia (2009), a Israele (2010) e al Québec (2011), Concorto ha deciso di dedicare il focus di quest’anno alla Corea. Quest’anno, dal 25 agosto al 1 settembre, il pubblico di Concorto assisterà a 8 serate con proiezioni divise in 7 sezioni.

eN/ Concorto is a non-profit organization with a staff of 30 people, supported by public institutions and private sponsors. The festival is 11 years old and takes place at Parco Raggio, a beautiful park in Pon-tenure, in the province of Piacenza, 70 km from Milan.

I film d’animazione sono parte impor-tante della nostra programmazione, da qui l’idea di proporre questo film che nasce da un cortometraggio candidato agli Oscar nel 2005, prodotto da Tim Burton.

The association, with its 150 volunteers, has run Cinema Careni in Pieve di Soligo since 2003; the passion for cinema, and the intention to be active play-ers in our territory, have led to our partner-ship with Lago Film Fest.

IT/ Direttamente dalla 51° Settimana della Critica di Cannes, NISI MASA, il network europeo del cinema giovane, è orgoglioso di presentare la prima italiana dei corto-metraggi del workshop “Cine-Boat”. Il net-work, che si definisce uno spazio libero per la crescita di giovani talenti, è conosciuto per le sue innovative ed ambiziose avven-ture cinematografiche, che incoraggiano la giovane generazione europea ad esplorare e condividere la propria interpretazione del mondo.

Nel giugno 2011, 18 giovani film-maker europei hanno viaggiato in barca nell’arci-pelago di Turku, in Finlandia, esplorando la cultura unica delle diverse isole. Guidate dal pluri-premiato documentarista slovac-co Peter Kerekes, le troupe hanno prodotto 6 corti documentari. Il workshop, assieme a un concorso di cortometraggi e a un mini festival cinematografico, rientrava nell’i-niziativa “Polyglot: on the way to Turku”, organizzata da NISI MASA nello speciale contesto di Turku Capitale europea della cultura 2011.

eN/ Straight from the 51st Cannes Critics’ Week, NISI MASA, the European network of young cinema, proudly presents the Ital-ian premiere of the “Cine-Boat” workshop films. The network, that defines itself as a free space for new talents to develop them-selves, is known for its innovative and ambitious cinematographic adventures, which encourage the young Euro-genera-

tion to explore and share their understand-ing of the world.

In June 2011, 18 young European film-makers travelled by boat across the ar-chipelago of Turku, in Finland, exploring the unique local culture of the different is-lands. Guided by award-winning Slovakan documentarist Peter Kerekes, the crews produced 6 short documentary films. The workshop, together with a short film con-test and a mini film festival, was part of the “Polyglot: on the way to Turku” initia-tive, organised by NISI MASA in the spe-cial context of Turku as the 2011 European Capital of Culture.

IT/ Kinoklub Zagreb è una associazione di produzione cinematografica amatoriale che si fonda su due ideali: la completa liber-tà dell’autore e la possibilità per tutti di ac-cedere al mezzo cinematografico.

Nel corso degli anni KKZ ha prodotto circa 2.000 film amatoriali. Inoltre KKZ organizza seminari in grado di coinvolge-re molti registi giovani e appassionati. Al Lago Film Fest viene proposta una selezio-ne dei lavori più interessanti prodotti da KKZ negli ultimi due anni.

eN/ Kinoklub Zagreb is an amateur film pro-duction association which is based on two main ideals: total author freedom in film expression and free filmmaking for all.

In history KKZ made around 2,000 amateur films. Also KKZ functions as edu-cational point through many mentor work-shops for many young and eager filmmak-ers. In last two years, KKZ made around 100 amateur films, and this program is a selection of theses films.

IT/ Siamo molto fieri di potere presentare il DVD “Animazio-ni 2” in occasione del Lago Film Fest! Realizzare una seconda antologia significa avere avuto ragione nel rischiare tempo ed energie nel progetto “Anima-zioni: cortometraggi italiani contemporanei”.

Dopo un anno e mezzo, ab-biamo verificato come la nuova produzione animata in Italia non si sia arrestata, qualcosa si stia muovendo in maniera in-teressante e, soprattutto, in di-versi luoghi allo stesso tempo. Lo dimostra la relativa facili-tà con cui abbiamo scoperto e contattato nuovi nomi che ne-gli ultimi anni hanno realizza-to eccellenti film.

Siamo onorati di poter ospi-tare un vero capolavoro dell’a-

nimazione italiana degli ultimi dieci anni, “La funambola” del maestro Roberto Catani, insie-me a molti giovani usciti dalle scuole di animazione, in Italia e all’estero, con risultati note-voli.

Per tutti questi motivi pos-siamo pensare che le Raccolte possano essere molte e ricche anche in futuro, e che ritrove-remo molti di questi giovani talenti in una prossima uscita antologica di film di alta qualità per gli occhi e per la mente!

After a year and a half, it appears that the new Italian animated production has not come to a standstill, so that our task is not yet accomplished. There are certainly many at-tention-grabbing situations taking place in different areas at the same time. Indeed, it was relatively easy to come across new artists and excellent films made in the last few years.

We are delighted to host a

real Italian animation master-piece, Roberto Catani’s “La Funambola”, together with many young animation schools graduates.

We will hopefully meet many of these young talented artists in a future film anthol-ogy, supporting high quality productions.

IT/ Salon Video è un progetto indipenden-te, mirato alla creazione di una piattafor-ma che incoraggi la produzione di video arte e ne favorisca la visibilità, e concepito appositamente per gli artisti in Romania e Moldavia. Il progetto raccoglie opere video attraverso open call e ricerca priva-ta, e invita gli artisti a presentare i propri lavori nell’ambito di eventi pubblici a ca-denza irregolare, in diverse località di Bu-charest. Durante ogni evento ha luogo uno scambio di video con artisti d’altro gruppo e provenienza, ad ampliare la conoscenza e stimolarne nuove letture. Un archivio online dei lavori raccolti è reperibile pres-so il sito del progetto, e la speranza è che continui a crescere, quantitativamente e qualitativamente.

Per l’ottava edizione del Lago Film Fest, Salon Video ha selezionato un grup-po di video-opere che sfruttano la diver-sità e la ricchezza che ci circondano; non nell’accezione di prosperità, né necessa-riamente di densità di cultura, idee e “cose funzionanti”; ma di un’abbondanza di risorse da impiegare creativamente, mal-grado le loro spesso povere qualità.

Questi artisti si guardano attorno, aguzzando uno sguardo a volte ironico, e raccolgono elementi da trasformare e ri-distribuire. Li riconosciamo: vi identifi-chiamo la nostra realtà, le città, le cucine, i nostri mass media; ma un dettaglio è stato torto, e assieme a questo la nostra com-prensione di esso.

For every event, a video exchange is made with another group of artists, in another country, which adds awareness and provokes new readings. An online archive of the works collected is visible on the website of the project, and the hope is that it will continuously grow in both quantity and quality.

For Lago Film Fest 8, Salon Video has selected a batch of video works that seem to take advantage of the diversity and richness surrounding us. It is not about wealth, or even about richness of culture, ideas and things-that-work, but an abun-dance of resources to be used creatively, despite their often poor qualities. These artists are looking around themselves with a sharp eye, sometimes ironic, and pick-up elements that can be transformed

Queste opere usano il medium visivo per catturare la realtà pura, a volte bruta-le, ma non si limitano a questo; c’è ibrida-zione e gioco, reinterpretazione e riorga-nizzazione. Nell’insieme, rappresentano un invito a godersi il caos che abbiamo attorno, ma anche un provocatorio invito a trasformarlo. “Micro” è la parola chiave, qui: la prospettiva di grandi cambinamen-ti è stata abbandonata, e le nuove realtà sono fatte di piccoli mattoni.

eN/ Salon Video is an independent project that aims to create a platform for show-casing and encouraging the production of video art, specifically created for artists in Romania and Moldova. The project col-

These works use video to capture the pure – sometimes brutal – reality, but don’t stop here; there is play, mix, reenacting and sorting out. As a group, they are an invitation of taking pleasure in the chaos that happens around us, but also a provocation to transform it. Micro is the key word here, as big changes are long abandoned, and new realities are built in small bricks.

Salon Video has started in 2012, it is initiated by Daniela Palimariu and cre-ated with the help of Dan Basu. With each event, Salon Video looks for new ways of presenting and experiencing video art.

IT/ AtelierFraSe è un laboratorio noma-de di architettura e design che ambisce a raccontare una proposta alternativa al si-stema volume/forma/funzione. Il lavoro di AtelierFraSe si sviluppa attraverso un processo creativo non stop, in cui il ruolo del progettista si fonde con le competenze e le tecniche delle maestranze. Questo è il punto di forza del lavoro di AtelierFraSe: le intenzioni primarie hanno in questo modo piena coerenza con il risultato finale.

AtelierFraSe progetta e realizza in-terventi architettonici, come sculture e installazioni per eventi e manifestazioni, elementi di arredo per abitazioni private e negozi, set per teatri e spettacoli. Dal 2011 AtelierFraSe è a Londra dove collabora alla

realizzazione di installazioni, scenogra-fie per i teatri, e interventi site specific per spazi pubblici. Contemporaneamente, dal 2009, collabora con LagoFilmFest alla rea-lizzazione delle scenografie.

Quest’anno AtelierFraSe, con il proget-to “Tabulata”, esplora il tema del “trabuc-co”, “la grande macchina pescatoria, simile allo scheletro colossale di un anfibio anti-diluviano…” come la definì Gabriele d’An-nunzio nel Trionfo della morte.

process, in which the role of the designer merges with the skills and techniques of arts and crafts. This is the point of strength of the work of AtelierFraSe: original inten-tions have in this way full consistency with the final outcome.

AtelierFraSe designs and manufactures architectural interventions, as elements of domestic furniture for private dwell-ings and shops, sets for theatres and shows, sculptures and installations for events and happenings. In 2011 AtelierFraSe moved to London starting collaborating on the re-alization of set designs for theaters, art in-stallation and site specific interventions for public spaces, always attending in first per-son to each phase of the creation. Simulta-neously, since 2009, AtelierFraSe collabo-rates with LagoFilmFest, an international short film festival, on the realization of the open air set design.

This year AtelierFraSe with the project “Tabulata”, explores the theme of “trabuc-co”, “the fisherman great machine, simi-lar to the skeleton of a giant antediluvian amphibian...” as Gabriele D’Annunzio de-fined it in the Triumph of Death.

IT/ Open Space è un progetto artistico che si svolge all’interno del Lago Film Fest e che ha l’intento di ampliare le proposte della manifestazione, avvicinare i giovani artisti a Lago e i visitatori all’arte contem-poranea.

L’obiettivo che con questo progetto ci si pone è il coinvolgimento di giovani ar-tisti chiamati a riflettere su questo luogo e le sue peculiarità. eN/ Open Space is an artistic project that takes place at Lago Film Fest and points at broadening the event’s purposes – to at-tract young artists to Lago and visitors to contemporary art. The objective we aim at with this pro-ject is the involvement of young artists, called to reflect upon this place and its peculiarities. During the first edition, we met through Open Space five of the many forms of contemporary art: Daniela Pali-mariu’s “Dinner in Love Boat”; Rebecca d’Andrea’s “Punti di Svista”; Menta’s “collage/decollage”; Alessandro Perini’s “Subverted Landscape”; Alice Lorenzon’s “Interactive Soundscape”.

Un concentrato di ironia, una parodia del supereroismo tipico dei fumetti americani, calata nella realtà italiana.

IT/ Massimo Racozzi e Fabio Babich, illustratore e fumet-tista, si incontrano nel 2006 al PERF, corso di Cinema d’Animazione presso la Scuola del Libro di Urbino.

Iniziano a collaborare as-sieme nel 2009 fondando l’Ideart-group e danno il via a numerosi spettacoli di Sand Art, live performance di dis-egno sulla sabbia legate a varie tipologie di eventi.

Attivi anche nel campo dell’animazione tradizionale in Stop-Motion, assieme al gruppo “Editart” realizzano dei video musicali per l”Heart Live Tour” della cantante Elisa e per gli emergenti Danka, ed hanno in cantiere la realiz-zazione una serie ad episodi animata. Al Lago Film Fest of-

friranno un piccolo spettacolo di “sand art”. Fabio Babich, grazie al fumetto “Bugs” (001 Edizioni) ha recentemente ot-tenuto la nomination quale “Autore Rivelazione” al pre-mio Carlo Boscarato del Tre-viso Comic Book Festival, col quale l’evento è realizzato in collaborazione.

eN/ Massimo Racozzi, illustra-tor, and Fabio Babich, author of comics, met each other at PERF, an animation cinema course held within Urbino’s School of Book, in 2006.

They began collaborating in 2009, founding Ideart-group and starting up a serie of Sand Art shows, live performances of drawing on sand, linked to various kind of events.

They’re also active in the field of traditional stop-motion animation: they made, along with the “Editart” group, mu-sic videos for songwriter Eli-sa’s “Heart Live Tour”, as well as for the emerging band Dan-ka; they have plans to realize an animated serie, too. At this year’s Lago Film Fest, they’ll feature a little “sand art” show. Moreover, Fabio Babich has recently been given the Carlo Boscarato Prize for “Revela-tion author” at Treviso Comic Book Festival, for his comic book “Bugs” (001 Editions).

IT/ “L’Inferno”, leggendario film muto del 1911, narra con fedeltà, mediante immagi-ni suggestive e scenografie grottesche, il viaggio di Dante e Virgilio come descritto nella prima cantica della Divina Comme-dia. Il primo e più costoso lungometraggio italiano mai realizzato, dopo un secolo “L’Inferno” impressiona ancora per la po-tenza espressiva e per l’uso in ogni scena di effetti speciali rivoluzionari, che inducono realismo nelle più forti visioni: i lussuriosi trascinati dalla bufera, il petto squarciato di Lucifero, la testa staccata di Bertrand de Born, la trasformazione dei ladri in ser-penti.

L’interesse per il recupero di un mate-riale così raro ed eccezionale si coniuga ad

un intervento musicale realizzato apposi-tamente per la performance: mediante l’e-secuzione dal vivo di composizioni origi-nali, utilizzando tastiere, strumenti fatti in casa, e registrazioni di suoni sul campo, i musicisti Riccardo Buck, Giacomo Mer-curiali e Stefano Pasqualin si confronta-no con un esperimento fra la musica e un reperto cinematografico primordiale, dettato dal complesso rapporto tra l’intra-montabile tema del peccato e l’incredibile spettacolo dei mezzi espressivi.

The first and the most expensive Italian feature film ever made, after a century “L’Inferno” still im-presses us, thanks to its expressive power and the use of revolutionary special effects in every scene, which lend realism to the most powerful visions: the lustful, swept by a windstorm, Lucifer’s torn chest, Ber-trand de Born’s cut head, the thieves being turned into snakes.

The interest for the recovery of such rare and extraordinary material combines with a musical contribution, created ex-pressly for this experience: through live executions of original compositions, us-ing keyboards, homemade instruments, and field recordings, musicians Riccardo Buck, Giacomo Mercuriali and Stefano Pasqualin deal with an experiment be-tween music and a primeval cinematic find, pervaded by the complex relation-ship between the everlasting theme of sin and the incredible show of expressive means.

Il primo, ‘SEX EQUO (sex in the foreground)’ è stato presentato in anteprima italiana proprio al Lago Film Fest 2011. I due ‘sottotitoli’ dei film, ispirati a due dischi di Duke Ellington (‘Piano in the foreground’ e ‘Piano in the background’) indicano il modo in cui la ricerca sulla tematica sessuale è stata e continua ad essere condotta nei due film.

eN/ A man gets punished on the day of his birthday, and that’s why for him it’s such a great party… “B.C.” is one of the epi-sodes that will form the second ‘SEX NOVO (sex in the back-ground)’ film in progress. The Italian premiere of the first one, ‘SEX EQUO (sex in the fore-ground)’, has been featured at Lago Film Fest 2011. The sub-titles of the two films, inspired by two Duke Ellington’s al-bums (‘Piano in the foreground’ and ‘Piano in the background’) hints at the way in which the research on the topic of sex has been and still is conducted on both films.

She started working as a professional actress since her first years at academy, but it took ten years before she realized that the stage didn’t need her! In 2007 she started working in television as a presenter and author. IT/ L’artista delle immagini in movimento Max Hattler ha curato la propria formazione presso diversi istituti, tra cui il Goldsmiths College, la Escuela de Cine de Madrid e la Royal College of Art, dove ha conseguito un MA in Animazione nel 2005. Ha esibito i suoi lavori con delle personali al Tenderpixel, al Lumen Eclipse, al Media Art Friedland e al Someonesgarden di Tokyo e gli sono state dedicate delle retrospettive, tra gli altri, all’Image Forum Festival, al Fredrikstad Animation Festival, al Go Short e al Branchage Jersey Film Festival. I suoi lavori sono stati mostrati durante centinaia di festival cinematografici, così come in musei e gallerie come alla MOCA di Taipei, al Marl Video Art Award, allo Yota Space e alla Gasworks Gallery. Tra i riconoscimenti ricevuti da Hattler si possono menzionare quelli ottenuti al St. Louis Film Festival, al Visual Music Award, all’Animate OPEN Digitalis, al London International Animation Festival, al Videofestival Bochum, al Videologia, allo Skepto Festival, al San Gio Festival e al 700IS Art Film Festival.I film di Max Hattler sono stati inclusi nei programmi itineranti dell’EMAF, del Videoformes, del Onedotzero, del Resfest, del The Animation Show, de L’Alternativa, dell’Animac,

Nel 2005 ha condotto “Passato Prossimo” su La7. Sempre nel 2005 è stato tra i vincitori del Premio Ilaria Alpi. Ha curato il film “Viva Zapatero!” di Sabina Guzzanti, presentato fuori concorso al Festival del Cinema di Venezia. Dal 2008 è uno degli autori di punta di “Report”, su Rai Tre.

IT/ Performer, sound designer, e storico di cinema di animazione. Ha realizzato colonne sonore per cortometraggi animati di Blu, Saul Saguatti, Michele Bernardi, Pierre Hébert e altri. Insegna Storia dell’Animazione presso il Master in Animazione dell’Accademia di Belle Arti di Palermo, e collabora attivamente con diversi festival internazionali con master class, workshop, letture su argomenti legati all’animazione e alla colonna sonora; è spesso invitato in giurie internazionali e in comitati di selezione in tutta Europa.Realizza workshop insieme a Basmati A.C. e all’Associazione culturale OTTOmani, promuovendo il cinema di animazione italiano a livello internazionale. Ha vinto il premio Golden Reiter per la migliore colonna sonora alla 23° edizione del festival internazionale di cortometraggio FilmFest Dresden e il premio Asifa Italia 2010.

eN/ Performer, sound designer, and historian in Animation. He has created soundtracks for short animated films by Blu, Saul Saguatti, Michele Bernardi, Pierre Hébert and others. He teaches History of Animation at the Fine Arts Academy of Palermo, and works closely with several international festivals with master classes, workshops, lectures on topics related to animation and soundtrack. He is often invited to international juries and selection committees throughout Europe. He leads workshops together with Basmati A.C. and OTTOmani Cultural Association, promoting Italian animated films internationally. He won the Golden ReiterAward for the best soundtrack at the 23rd edition of the international short film festival FilmFest Dresden and the 2010 Asifa Italy Award.

eN/ Doriana Leondeff was born in Bari to a Sicilian mother and a Bulgarian father. She earned her diploma in scriptwriting at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia of Rome in 1987. A year later she graduated in Literature from Università La Sapienza of Rome, with a thesis on Cinematographic History and Criticism. In the same year she was assistant director in the making of the film “Il tempo dei Gitani”, by Emir Kusturica. From 1988 to 1993 she collaborated with screenwriters Nicola Badalucco and Rodolfo Sonego on numerous films and television miniseries. In 1995, she started a collaboration with Silvio Soldini, and they wrote together “Le acro-bate”, “Pane e tulipani”, Brucio nel vento”, “Agata e la tempesta”, “Giorni e nuvole”, “Cosa voglio di più”, “Il comandante e la cicogna” (currently on production). In 1998 she was awarded the Grolla d’Oro at Saint Vincent Film Festival for the screenplay of the film “Vite in sospeso”, by Marco Turco, awarded also as best first work. She was the author of the scripts of the films “La parola amore esiste” by Mimmo Calopresti, “Lezioni di volo”, by Francesca Archibugi, “Il grande sogno”, by Michele Placido, “Quando la notte”, by Cristina Comencini. Since 2003 she has collaborated with Carlo Mazzacurati, with whom she has written “L’amore ritrovato”, “La giusta distanza”, “La passione”, “La regina delle nevi” (provisional title, currently on preparation).

IT/ Nato a Somma Lombardo, in provincia di Varese, nel 1950. Dopo gli studi universitari decide di seguire la passione per il cinema che ha fin da bambino. Nel 1976 è a Roma come assistente di Alberto Sironi e nel 1977 incontra Mario Orfini con cui collabora per “Porci con le ali”. Diventa socio di Orfini, con il quale produce i film di Arbore (“Il Pap’occhio”, “F.F.s.s.”), la trilogia di De Crescenzo (“Così parlò Bellavista”, “Oi dialogoi”, “32 dicembre”) e altri film per il cinema e serie tv. Nel 1986 con Elda Ferri e Roberto Faenza costituisce la Hologram, società per lo sviluppo di software per la produzione cine-televisiva. Nel 1987 con la propria società di produzione realizza due film di Nino Bizzarri “(La seconda notte” e “Segno di fuoco”) e la prima serie tv (“Il commissario corso”, con Diego Abatantuono) finanziata dalla ECA (European Coproduction Association). Nel 1990, insieme a Daniele Senatore

Un sodalizio durato dieci anni, durante i quali, oltre a numerosi progetti rimasti irrealizzati, come “Guglielmo Marconi” e “Australia”, firma episodi delle serie di Rai Uno “Una famiglia in giallo”, con Ugo Tognazzi, e “Un commissario a Roma”, con Nino Manfredi, e per Rai Due “Provincia segreta” e “Provincia segreta 2”, con Andrea Giordana e Isabella Ferrari. Collabora anche alla sceneggiatura dell’ultimo film di Sonego, “Il quaderno della spesa”, con Gabriele Lavia e la regia di Tonino Cervi, distribuito dalla 20th Century Fox. Nel ‘99 entra a far parte del team di autori della soap-opera di Canale 5 “Vivere”, per la quale, dal 2003 al 2006, è stato responsabile dei dialoghi. È stato poi story-editor per la soap opera “Sottocasa” (Rai Uno), script-writer e script-editor per “Incantesimo” (Rai Uno) e script-writer per “Agrodolce” (Rai Tre). Nel 2009, per la Elleffe Group di Lorenzo Flaherty, firma “Coppia da sballo”,

un action movie brillante che, nel 2010, ha ottenuto il contributo statale e il riconoscimento di film di interesse culturale.

IT/ Doriana Leondeff nasce a Bari da madre siciliana e padre bulgaro. Si diploma in sceneggiatura presso il Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia di Roma nel 1987. L’anno successivo si laurea in Lettere, con tesi in Storia e Critica del Cinema, presso l’Università La Sapienza di Roma. Nello stesso anno è assistente alla regia del film “Il tempo dei gitani” di Emir Kusturica. Dal 1988 al 1993 collabora con gli sceneggiatori Nicola Badalucco e Rodolfo Sonego a numerosi film e miniserie tv. Nel 1995 inizia la collaborazione con Silvio Soldini, con il quale scrive “Le acrobate”, “Pane e tulipani”, “Brucio nel vento”, “Agata e la tempesta”, “Giorni e nuvole”, “Cosa voglio di più”, “Il comandante e la cicogna” (in lavorazione). RITA DI SANTO IT/ Rita Di Santo è nata a Roma. Dottoressa in Lettere, ha lavorato come assistente di cattedra del professor Orio Caldiron all’Università La Sapienza di Roma. Ha co-diretto a Roma la prima edizione del Festival del Nuovo Cinema Italiano (1997), e ha lavorato come critico cinematografico per varie riviste e quotidiani nazionali. Nel 1999 si è trasferita a Londra, dove ha lavorato per l’Istituto di Cultura di Londra come direttrice artistica delle prime tre edizioni del Festival Italiano del Cortometraggio e del Cinema Indipendente. Corrispondente per “il Manifesto”, ha iniziato l’attività di freelance per riviste e quotidiani stranieri. Dal 2001 è critico cinematografico e responsabile delle pagine di cinema per il quotidiano inglese “Morning Star”. Membro dell’associazione professionale di critici inglesi U.K. Critics’ Circle, della Federazione Internazionale dei Critici e dell’International Press Academy, è stata membro della giuria di diversi festival internazionali.

eN/ He was born in Somma Lombardo, in the Province of Varese, in 1950. After university, he decided to follow the passion for cinema that dated back to his childhood. In 1976 he was in Rome, working as an assistant to Alberto Sironi, and in 1977 he met Mario Orfini, with whom he collaborated on “Porci con le ali”. After becoming Orfini’s associate, they produced films directed by Arbore (“Il Pap’occhio”, “F.F.s.s.”), the trilogy by De Crescenzo (“Così parlò Bellavista”, “Oi dialogoi”, “32 dicembre”), other films for theatrical release and television series. In 1986, together with Elda Ferri and Rob-erto Faenza, founded Hologram, a company developing software for cinematographic and television production. In 1987, with his production company, he carried out two films by Nino Bizzarri (“La seconda notte” and “Segno di fuoco”), and the first TV series (“Il commissario corso”, starring Diego Abatantuono) funded by the ECA (European Coproduction Association). In 1990 in London, together with Daniele Senatore e Jo Janni, founded JBS Vic Film, and developed two screenplays, “La Promessa” and “Five Years Sentence”, based respectively on Dürrenmatt’s novel “The Promise”, and Bernice Rubens’s homonymous book. Meanwhile, his friendship with Rodolfo Sonego evolved with the creation of two television scripts, “Guglielmo Marconi” and “Australia”, which were never produced. In 1994, he worked as a consultant for many companies, with which he produced, in 1996, “Jack Frusciante è uscito dal gruppo”, based on the novel by Brizzi. IT/ Laureato in Lettere e con un Dottorato al DAMS di Bologna, dal 2005 è docente a contratto per il DAMS di Padova e insegna Storia del Cinema Italiano nella sede italiana della Boston University. Presso il Liceo della Comunicazione di Conegliano è docente di Cinema e Media Elettronici, scrive e produce format radiofonici che sperimenta con gli studenti alla radio

locale. Appassionato divulgatore e didatta degli audiovisivi, ha collaborato con numerose agenzie formative, pubblicando saggi critici, proposte didattiche e di recente il manuale “Il coccodrillo luminoso”, grazie anche alla collaborazione della Mediateca Cinemazero di Pordenone della quale è consulente per le attività laboratoriali condotte nelle scuole.

In seguito c’è stato il lungo lavoro, insieme a Leone Colonna, a un film che non si è mai fatto. Il primo film senza Rodolfo è stato “Bugie bianche”, di Stefano Rolla. Poi “Grog”, di Francesco Laudadio, “Flirt”, di Roberto Russo, “Giulia e Giulia”, di Peter del Monte. Con il TV movie “L’ultimo concerto”, di Francesco Laudadio, è cominciata la televisione. Da allora ne ho fatta tanta: “Plagio”, di Cinzia Torrini, “Tutti gli uomini di Sara”, di Giampaolo Tescari, “Una storia qualunque” e “Un difetto di famiglia” di Alberto Simone, tanti episodi di serie, da “Scomparsi” a “Una madre detective”, a “Raccontami”. Ancora un film per le sale, “Tre mogli”, di Marco Risi. IT/ Avere una buona idea e non saperla esprimere è come avere un idea confusa e voler partecipare ad una discussione. Diciottoocchi cerca di essere un racconto spontaneo di esperienze leggere. Il primo anno è iniziato grazie al contributo di illustratori, fotografi e videomaker. Dal secondo anno il progetto è aperto anche a sound designer.

eN/ Having a good idea but not being able to express it, is the counterpart of being muddle-headed and wanting to be involved in a debate. Dicioottocchi (the title of the film) wants to be a natural account, based on light weight experiences. The first year began thanks to the contribution ofillustrators, photographers and videomakers. At the beginning of the second year, this plan will be also extended to sound designers.
