Whittier, CA – Congresswoman Grace Napolitano (left), the Water Replenishment District’s (WRD) Board Director Albert Robles (center) and Chief Engineer and General Manager of the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County Grace Chan (right), highlighted a signing ceremony on August 28 for a historic 30-year recycled water purchase agreement. This action will increase the use of recycled water for groundwater replenishment, eventually eliminating the need for imported water for groundwater replenishment and conserving 23 billion gallons of water per year for future generations. In a few short years, with the completion of WRD’s Groundwater Reliability Improvement Program (GRIP), WRD will stop being a customer of imported water.
