View the web version January 2020 Electronic Prescribing of Controlled Substances (EPCS) Good news! The recent NCPDP upgrade means that we are almost ready to enroll providers in EPCS. This has been a commonly requested upgrade, so we are pleased to provide it. Our clinician informaticists are currently being enrolled and testing the workflow. The enrollment process is straightforward, but time-intensive; it requires face to face confirmation of identity with the clinician and their photo ID, and installation of the EPCS app on a mobile phone (a limited number of keyfobs will be available). With the current projects going on at Children’s, it will take the Informatics team some time to complete this enrollment work. We can accelerate the work by attending department meetings or other forums to present the process and complete enrollment with you. We hope you’ll invite us to join your team’s meetings, so we can bring this powerful new feature to everyone as soon as possible. St. Paul Anesthesia Going Live in the EMR The Anesthesia Electronic Record will go live for the St. Paul campus on January 21st! The Minnetonka and Minneapolis campus will follow in the upcoming months. The move from paper to electronic charting will provide a more readable copy of the Anesthesia Record and provide the information earlier to all clinicians. Once finalized, Anesthesia Records can be found under the Documents section of the Workflow Summary or under Notes. Tip of the Month - Physician Handoff Customization January's tip of the month shows you how to manage the columns in the Physician Handoff tool and display pt info pertinent to you! Discharge Med Rec Alert supports patient safety To assure our patients have a complete and accurate home medication list reflecting their active medications, an alert will remind Clinicians who have missed completing Discharge Medication Reconciliation. The alert will fire after Ambulatory notes are completed using Dynamic Documentation. Clinical Timeline View is helping manage diagnoses The Clinical Timeline View combines Active Problems/Medications together with relevant results/notes and diagnostic tests to present information in a condensed view to aid in management of specific diagnoses. Click here to learn more. Dyn Doc - Save Clicks/Improve Usability Updates have been made to Dynamic Documentation to improve efficiency and usability. Get more detail here . Commonwell is almost here Beginning in February 2020, CommonWell will allow us the ability to share electronic records with Gillette, Southdale Pediatrics, Fairview/University of MN, Essentia Health, Sanford Health, CentraCare, HCMC, North Memorial and Mayo Clinic.
