This book is a work of fiction. Names, characters, places, and

incidents either are products of the author's imagination, or

are used fictiously. Any resemblance to actual events orlocales or persons, living or dead, is entirely coincidental.

    ThePrisoners//chapter 02.

The big black wolves had eaten millions

    of characters.

The big black wolves are bad, said a child.

They are eating our dream, said another.

The big black wolves are everywhere, and they won't

stop, till every single characters died, ripped apart, to

conquest their mundane thirst, and unknown purpose.

But one day, there are four shining knights,

who put their lives in the line, to kill the wolves.

    But everyone didn't know them.

    Nobody knew them.

    Why? Why? Why?

Because they are the knights who had plunged into the deepest

    abyss.

    Who are invisible.

    With mysterious past

    Andof unknown desire.

A sound of sharp roaring voice was visibly heard from the

cold, lonely alley, back from the crowded street, revealing

the sound of a metallic vessel being pulled out from a

lumpy bloodstained flesh and the sound of moans and

sighs also found in the middle of the large roar afterward.

The sigh was from a man, and the moan was from a

woman, none irritating, but able to cut pierce the silence

    for mere moment.

Within the dark, it was still visible to see the fact that the

rotten flesh was from of a huge dog, with a scent of blood

and wrath inside of its remorseful body. The flesh which

full of holes and cuts, then turned into shining golden ash.

There the metallic vessel which took away the life of the

flesh was pushed downto its black leather

    sheath.

    As the flesh deformed

    slowly into thin ash

    which flew up in the

    air, the other fleshes

    behind of it did exactly

    the same as the latest

    flesh did. Then,

    nothing was foundanymore, until

    something fell down

    8

from the sky and be caught by the hand of a muscular

    man.

The very thing that fell down rapidly from the sky was apendulum, a shining purple pendulum which suddenly

shining more brightly in the middle of the night, in the

silent deserted block with no one else around. Silence

was creeping out everywhere, and there were no sign of

anything alive, except there were two silhouettes that

were shown from the dim streets light back in the corner,

and from there, the pendulum was shining a lot more and

more. Until it shone dimmer and no more lights were

    shown.

While keeping its glamour by shining its light, it also

produced a sounda feminine sound coming from the

very core of the pendulum. Where the pendulums

spectrum shown red maroon, as if it the color was

radiating a certain warm to its surrounding, it then

reduced to gray light. Everything went a tad more silent

and grimmer, thus the pressure of the atmosphere was

seemingly increased as the voice spoke more and more

    words

I dont reckon any of this metallic scent on my body. I dont

recognize such thing, such foreign thing. My body feels

very numb, nothing really matters anymore. My vision

had already darkened, nothing really matters anymore.

    9

  • 7/29/2019 La Carta Chapter 2

    10/34

There the words stopped for seconds. Statics were heard

and there the voice started to speak once more. The

silhouettes remained in silent, as if they were watching

something incredibly important, and interesting, in

    addition.

The feel of metallic blade that snuck deeply inside of my

slowly beating heart, had already made me feel empty;full

of regret and deceit. Then I cant feel the oxygen flowing

inside of my body. No breath, no, no more. Memories of

everything had already been planted in my outer vision.

Something is wrong. Everything is wrong.

Bruises around my naked bodyshown nothing but guilty.

The dogs which had ripped apart pieces of my skin,

continued to rip them apartas if they were hungry from

    the very start.

Spasms, and then more spasms. The time feels like its

going to stopand everything will disappear forever. My

body is starting to shake hardbut it couldnt. I couldntmove my hands. My body is cold. So cold.

But something is pulling me out, before everything

enveloped me in eternal darkness. A light pulls me out, and

something heavy is crushing my body.

    What are you doing?

    10

  • 7/29/2019 La Carta Chapter 2

    11/34

I am killed already. Dont you hear that my heart stop

    beating?

    H-Hey! Let me go!

    WHOOOARYOUZZZ

There the statics produced a rough endto which a

manly voice swaggered slowly while trying to not annoy

another. Then the pendulum shone purple, as if it was

dying out, and afterwardthe manly voice started

talking, cutting through the eerie atmosphere around the

    cold concrete alley.

So thats how you were dying, shrugged the man with a

muscular body, who was standing in the corner, with a slysmile in his expression. The scarf which enveloped his

neck was painted with ivory, and the attire he was

    wearing shown his wise entrepreneurship.

In the other hands, the girl who wore a long coat razzed

at him and walked away to the other side, Who in theworld would know that the he could make that record?

And dont hear it anymore please, Im veryembarrassed,

said she while she was trying to be notrude toward the

older man. Oh how hopefully she wished that he wasn't

    any older than her.

The man whose hair was as blimey as the sparkling

platina flipped the darkened pendulum from his left hand

    11

    12/34

smirked, and there he said with a harshand then

harsher tone, I do wonder why he would like to make

such surprises as this. Its quite surprising enough for me

though, after the second flip that made the pendulum

flied up in the airin seconds, it slowly turned out as a

bundle of speckled ash, and to nothing more.

I couldnt think up anyother reason while he just used

the record of my prior-death forfun though, she said

with a feminine voice as her hand touched the airas if

she was touching the long-gone ash, Its quite rude of

him, and there I foolishly expected him to be more godly.

    She huffed, and he scoffed.

Well, just think of it as a gift from him to me since I have

slain much more of them than you, the man slowly put

his hands inside his coats pockets and there his smile

fade. He roughened his albino hair, and closed his eyes.

Does that mean I could also get to see yours if I slay

    more than you?

Try me, said he, and there he opened his obsidian eyes

once more, revealing his soft red lips being pulled up a

bit, creating a cold but devious smirk. But for all that she

care about, it turned back the way it was in a split second.

    What a waste. She thought.

    12

    13/34

She shrugged while she crossed the both of her hands in

front of her chest, baring the annoyance behind her

    chuckles, Thanks for that, Lukas.

The man whose lips gestured to form words, No

problem.walked away to her side as they were out

walking from the cold alleyto meet a street full of lights

and be greeted by the honk of noisy floating cars. The

thought of the girl about the older man beside of her froze

her up, wondering why she could stick with him since

    then.

Lukas Skarlagen, she remembered the name.

We met in the middle of a night, with a very oldman was

greeting us as a messenger of a cumbersome news.

Thought the girl, while closing her eyes, and let Lukas led

the way in the middle of the crowded concrete road. The

girl tried to initiate a conversation between the both of

them while they were walking side to side on the

concrete sidewalk. She had a piece of her mind as theywere walking down along the street after they went out

from the cold alley they were originally from. She

brainstormed her mind, and a single question made her

realized that they werent that close enough to share each

    others personal information, moreover secrets.

After all, they had just met some time ago, and they had

only known each others name, each others physical

appearance, and official informationand damn the King

for he had already known her prior-death, while she did

not know about his. In conclusion, their relationship was

nothing special and whatsoever. It extended to be just

something mundane like a beneficial relationship.

After all, they were bound in a contract, and they had to

fulfill it. They were forced to, and they had no other

elligible options left in their path. But for whatever things

that may existed in this world, they needed to keep the

pact between the both of themand a third party, which

was the most superior, if to compare with them allbefore

they would certainly die for sure, in the relentless deathand despair, of agony and disappointmentand of

    eternal paradox.

However, it was of no matter, and she decided that her

pitiful thinking would not give her a chance to go on.

After all, it was just a silly contract, and it was only death

they were talking about. She was trying to get a bigger

catchview a bigger frame, than thinking about how she

could break the contract and die in a relentless death, of

    course.

I still dont get it, she whispered unconsciously, as her

head was looking down to the road. Her left hand was still

remained in her coats warm pocket.

The man walked still, and no reply came through his

mouth. There the girl continued with less contented as

ever, while light puffs of warm carbon dioxide formed in

the air of low temperature from their own mouth.

My name is Luna. I am from Portugal. I was 16 years old.I was actually going to die, but I haventdiedyet.

Logically, I wasnt valid in this world any longer, she

hissed, with no intention of being annoyed and

whatsoever, You are Lukas. You are from Norway. You

were 22 years old. You were actually going to die, but you

haventdiedyet. Logically, you werent valid in this world

any longer. And for the damned love of our king oftime,

you had known a piece of secret about me. Our condition

was exactly the same, but not all.

She looked at him, and he looked at her with a slightinterest and hidden curiosity. He wondered why she was

saying that so suddenly. And she wondered why he was

looking at her. There were too much questions with too

few data to form the answers. But there was one that

could be a fact-to-be conjecture: they were trying to untie

the mystery that had become a puppeteer of the world,

just for the sake of mere curiosity.

    16

  • 7/29/2019 La Carta Chapter 2

    17/34

What are you trying to imply? he whispered back, while

still keeping a pair of guarding obsidian eyes, which were

immensely scanning their surrounding, keeping a still

    ground as they were walking.

I still dont get why we are still in this world, and paired

    up together even.

    The King of Time. Remember?

I knewabout that oldman, said she, Thats what makes

this seemed so not logical, it still obscured me.

The point of her conjecture was taken by the man,

particularly. This was defying the logical thinking of mere

humans. It left them with three options. Whether the logicwas twisted and they were wrong, or they were just in

crossover dream with each other or rather, other beings

with supernatural power were involved in their time of

death. But for now, they were holding on to the latter

    option.

Everything was still a blur, however; he didnt dare to

take more than one step to those baseless theories alone.

Conjectures were confusing, so the way to learn the truth.

Before one understands everything, he needs to know

nothing, so he would know what it tasted like to know

    everything.

    17

    18/34

Before she continued what she was trying to say,

suddenly, a sharp jolt came through her spine. It made

her uncomfortable and felt ludicrous. She craned her neck

enough to see whatever that lies surrounding him and

her. Lukas that paid attention for her sudden jolt had

    known immediately from her reaction.

Lukas, hey, as Luna grabbed Lukass coat rather crudely,

she then whispered, They are following us.

Those? The silly question traveled to the tip of his

tongue, but he soon held it back. It would simply make

the situation awry. But the girl knew right away about

what he was going to do.

Moreover, the boss is here, said she as she flicked her

golden brown hair, A big, black boss, I feel.

As planned, the both of them unconsciously said.

Her smile gradually fadingand there the remorse of her

sharp eyes were shown. She pulled out a knife from thesheath, and in a single moment, the man pulled the girls

hand and ran through the road that was full of people,

ranged from old to young, from the lush-looking people to

    rich ones.

Both Lukas and Luna were in a mortal dangerthey

knew they were, but that wasnt going to stop them from

    18

  • 7/29/2019 La Carta Chapter 2

    19/34

running, and that wasnt going to stop the normal humans

to just complain about their foolish rush.

They were running to a place where no other humanscould interfere with the both of them. Where valid

humans who logically still lived wouldnt get hurt by the

affair they were having soon. They ran through the

puddles on the road, ran and ran as if they were going to

die for the second time if they stopped.

The roaring sound of barks behind of them werent

enough to terrify them. They were faintly heard just now,

after they had successfully run from the main road. The

man remained calm and cold, while the girl was readying

her small knife. Afterward, the man released the grasp of

her hand, and Luna found herself already slashing the

bloody hell out of those hounds, making some time for

    Lukas to ready his sword.

She slashed swiftly with two of her knives. She stabbed

once very deeply into the very heart of the hound beside

of her, and she pulled it out to make it as a shield to dodge

before the hound in front of her was trying to bite her

head. She had successfully dodged it with a rhythmic

pace, and there she stabbed the attacking hounds neck

with another knife, taking full of her opportunities.

Resulting a successfully made pool of blood to be found

behind of her. The blood which was spilled from the vena

and arteries also stained Lunas gracious linen clothes

and her silken hair, although the smelly guts and blood

were taking their shelter on her, she didnt seem to care

so much, for she was fully concentrating to the foes in

    front of her.

Luna had already slashed four of them, and then a sound

of a sword that seemingly cutting the air was found

behind of her. She quickly jumped back, instinctively

drawing herself to the larger figure behind of her, and

there she baffled after seeing the stink and the leftover

guts and blood on her clothes, I swear I will take a good

long bath after this is done.

The albino man which protected her back tilted his head

and thrusting the giant sword toward the group of

hounds. The group consisted of around 10 hounds, and

    Luna had killed four.

Six hounds versus four hounds. I wondered which gift

the King will give to me after Ive done cutting

    everything.

Hey, that is unfair. Ill win the other six! she hissed, andthere she started to run toward the hounds, leaving the

previous spot she was to take a break from the fighting.

While Luna was cutting through the hounds, he replied,

But Ive already defeated three. So what would you do?

The man grinned as the girl smiled in sarcastic manner,

as if he was enjoying his little dance with his sword.

Dont boast yourself too much, old man. There are way

too many open holes for me to get into.

She slaughtered another, And to add more of the countsso it could be fairer for me.

But he also slashed another, "But there is nothing fair in

    this world."

As Luna was talking with him to try to enjoy the fight andavoiding the scent of irking limp of fleshes and metallic

blood, she threw a large knife with her right hand toward

    23

  • 7/29/2019 La Carta Chapter 2

    24/34

the incoming hound from the other side of the alley, That

    is six.

He cut the hound in front of him into two, and then heswiftly rotated his sword and killed the remaining hounds

in one blast. His shining sword which was stained by the

wrenched blood was large enough to destroy everything.

Everyone would have to agree with that, since the sword

was gigantic to begin with. Giant monsters mightstand

with a chance against the both of them. However, these

    lesser hounds wouldnt.

The man exhaled as he pulled the large sword of his and

sheath it to the large scabbard on the side way of the

    alley.

He said monotonously, That is five. You only killed five

since the last one was only reinforcement.

"Hmph, it ended up with an equal score? This may be an

    unfunny joke indeed."

The girl knelt down and touched the flesh that had

disappeared into golden ashes and thin air, and there she

wondered about what these creatures are. She found

herself another brainstorming moment, leaving the man

behind in relentless ocean of thoughts.

    25/34

These are the works of those inEquilibriums thathe was

talking about, yeah? she silently whispered, Did we

have to kill these dogs since they were infected by them?

They were killed when inEquilibriums had grown inside

of them. We had killed whatever disease that might

spread, Luna. There is no use to regret it, he sighed.

I did not mean to regret the action, but I didnt

understand how this works. How inEquilibriums works.

Me neither. But that is whatTime wants us to do.

The both of them knew the line they shared together, they

    knew tooperfectly.

That is to be a knight with white horses which would

banish the evil monsters from the world!

At least, that was whathe said.

But Time knew, yet he remained discreet, she said as

she tried to stand up, That is the reason why I hatedgods. They are selfish, and again, discreet.

    That is funny.

I know it is. I have never even believed in agodbefore.

And there I was talking about how the gods are beingselfish.

He nodded as he pulled the girls hand to help her to get

up, the girl with the brown looking untidy hair was

    smiling and said, Thank you.

The two of them agreed that that was the first time they

could agree with each other. They had a bittersweet smile

marked in their expressions. They gave the sign of being

hurt, and they wouldnt want to have it againby

    trusting thisgod.

"In any case, we need to find the boss. I sensed he was

    near this alley," said she.

"Just keep both of the eyes open then," replied Lukas

    smugly.

The man walked down to the other side of the alley,

before Luna saw a piece of paper was flying down from

the sky. She jumped to reach for it, and then she read

    what it said.

Plaeno Street no. 34, Room 304. Meet me there, and I shallhave a good discussion with the both of you. I swear I wont

do banters for Lukas since he dislikes it.

Oh, one more thing ... Don't forget to look behind you! ;9

    Lovingly yours,Time.

At once, they both guard their backs and Lukas turned his

back to look at the dark alley. And suddenly, Luna felt

another jolt came through her skin.

"It's here!" Luna whispered softly to Lukas as she pointed

her finger to the other side of Lukas.

The both of them saw a tiny shadow appeared from the

end of the alley. They couldn't see its facial feature and

the specifics. But they knew, it was the boss whocontrolled the seeds in this block. But it was chasing

something, and it ran to another alley.

The both of them pursued the target as fast as their legs

could bring them. Then the both of them met two figures.

One without legs and one was bloodstained. The

bloodstained one curled like a ball, quivering like an

    insane human would do.

"Count with me. And I will meet you thee. There you plea,

but I will kill you three, said the monster with a terrifying

remark, as the pitch black body was rotating like a

parasol, dancing with an attire full of stench of death and

    sickening eyes.

You are as good as dead, scoffed Luna while holding the

both of her knives, while walking toward the monster,

before being stopped by Lukas's deathly grip.

What in the hell are you doing? Lukas grimly said, as he

    glared at her obsidian eyes.

You asked ME what am I doing. We are here to obliterate

    that damn monster, of course!

Look behind, he warily pointed his finger, and Luna

followed the trail, sniggering at her thought.

The monster was devolving into the girl behind of its

body, and no one found the monster againbut it swelled

down into the girl's tiny body. And then she stood up. Hermovement was odd, and she looked like a girl with no

sane mind. The girl was the very example that

inEquilibrium could form mere human to a doll. Her body

slowly devoured into pitch black, consuming every single

cell that might live inside of her dying body.

inEquilibrium had already been planted inside of her

    petite body.

Damn you Lukas, we lost a girl! Luna shouted as she

lunged forward to the girl who had turned into a

    ferocious monster.

She stopped in her way, and see a girl with a very similar

    face to someone she knew.

Oh my goodness, she gasped in fear. Before Lukas

arrived in front of the monster, the girl with pitch-black

heart slashed Luna with her renowned claws. Leaving
