An Ordinance amending Section 88.00 of Chapter VIII of the Los Angeles Municipal Code to revise the rates of all Parking Meter Zones.

THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. Section 88.00 of Chapter VIII of the Los Angeles Municipal Code, is amended in its entirety to read:

SEC. 88.00. PARKING METER ZONES AND RATES ESTABLISHED.

The following parking meter zones and hourly rates therefor are hereby established. Payment of the rates established in this section shall be in accordance with the appropriate schedules established by the Board.

1. Van Nuys Parking Meter Zone- $1.00 per hour. This zone includes all streets within the area bounded by the following street segments. The boundary streets are included in the zone:

(a) Sherman Way between Hazeltine Avenue and Kester Avenue.

(b) Hazeltime Avenue Sherman Way and Magnolia Boulevard.

(c) Magnolia Boulevard between Hazeltime Avenue and Kester Avenue.

(d) Kester Avenue between Magnolia Boulevard and Sherman Way.

2. North Hollywood Parking Meter Zone - $1.00 per hour. This zone includes all streets within the area bounded by the following street segments. The boundary streets are included in the zone:

(a) Burbank Boulevard from Tujunga Avenue to Cahuenga Boulevard.

(b) Cahuenga Boulevard from Burbank Boulevard to the Los Angeles River.

(c) The Los Angeles River from Cahuenga Boulevard to Tujunga Avenue.

(d) Tujunga Avenue from the Los Angeles River to Burbank Boulevard.

3. Sunset-Gardner Parking Meter Zone - $1.00 per hour.

(a) Sunset Boulevard between La Brea Avenue and the City Line west of Havenhurst Drive.

(b) Vista Street between a point 200 feet north of and the alley 150 feet south of Sunset Boulevard.

(c) Gardner Avenue Between a point 302 feet north of the north curb of Sunset Boulevard and the alley 150 feet south of Sunset Boulevard.

(d) Sierra Bonita Avenue between a point 136 feet north of the north curb of Sunset Boulevard and a point 270 feet south of the south curb of Sunset Boulevard.

(6) Centinela Avenue between Olympic Boulevard and Santa Monica Freeway.

(b) The boundary street segments set forth in (a) above except for the Santa Monica and San Diego Freeways.

75. Tarzana Parking Meter Zone - $1.00 per hour. This zone includes:

80. Washington-Broadway Parking Meter Zone - $1.00 per hour for each of the first four hours and a total of $4.00 for up to ten hours as permitted by the posted parking regulations. This zone includes:

(a) All streets within the area bounded by the following street segments:

(1) Harbor Freeway from the Santa Monica Freeway to 23rd Street.

(2) 23rd Street from the Harbor Freeway to Flower Street.

(3) Flower Street from 23rd Street to Adams Boulevard.

(4) Adams Boulevard from the Harbor Freeway to San Pedro Street.

(5) San Pedro Street from Adams Boulevard to the Santa Monica Freeway.

(6) Santa Monica Freeway from San Pedro Street to the Harbor Freeway.

(b) All boundary streets set forth in (a) above.

81. Alameda-East Parking Meter Zone- $1.00 per hour for each of the first four hours and a total of $4.00 for up to ten hours as permitted by the posted parking regulations. This zone includes:

(a) All streets within the area bounded by the following:

(1) Alameda Street between the Santa Ana Freeway and 4th Street.

(2) 4th Street between Alameda Street and the Los Angeles River.

(3) The Los Angeles River between 4th Street and the Santa Ana Freeway.

(4) The Santa Ana Freeway between the Los Angeles River and Alameda Street.

(b) Both sides of the boundary street segments set forth in (a)(2); neither side of the boundary street segment set forth in (a)(1 ).

82. Broadway-Siauson Parking Meter Zone - $1.00 per hour for each of the first four hours and a total of $4.00 for up to ten hours as permitted by the posted parking regulations. This zone includes:

(a) All streets within the area bounded by the following street segments:

(1) Slauson Avenue between Broadway and Woodlawn Avenue.

(2) Woodlawn Avenue between Slauson Avenue and 59th Place.

(3) 59th Place between Woodlawn Avenue and Main Street.

(4) Main Street between 59th Place and Gage Avenue.

(5) Gage Avenue between Main Street and Broadway.

(6) Broadway between Gage Avenue and Slauson Avenue.

(7) The boundary street segments set forth in (a) above.

Sec. 2. The revised rates listed in Section 1 above shall become effective according to the following schedule:

(a) Rates effective July 1, 2008 for the following subsections: 8. Wilshire-Alvarado, 10. Studio City, 11. Sunset-Vine, 14. Sunset-Alvarado, 17. Sherman Oaks, 28. Robertson-Alden, 35. La Cienega Center, 36. Westwood-Santa Monica, 37. Central Business District, 39. Brentwood-San Vicente, 41. Venice, 42. Beverly­Fairfax, 46. Hollywood-Vine, 48. Pica-Westwood, 53. Civic Center, 55. Little Tokyo, 60. Wilshire-Union, and 62. Washington-Pacific.

(b) Rates effective August 1, 2008 for the following subsections: 1. Van Nuys, 2. North Hollywood, 4. Vermont-Hollywood, 7. Highland Park, 9. York Boulevard, 12. USC-Coliseum, 15. Vermont-Wilshire, 20. Pica-Robertson, 25. Santa Manica­Sawtelle, 30. Eagle Rock, 31. Pacific Palisades, 40. Larchmont, 44. Boyle Heights, 45. Brentwood Village, 51. Vermont-Sunset, 54. Chinatown, 56. Wilshire-Fairfax, 58. La Brea-Melrose, 61. Wilshire-San Vicente, 65. East Downtown, 68. County Medical Center, 77. Woodland Hills, 79. Universal City, 80. Washington-Broadway.

(c) Rates effective September 1, 2008 for all other subsections not listed in subsections (a) or (b) above.

Sec. 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and have it published in accordance with Council policy, either in a daily newspaper circulated in the City of Los Angeles or by posting for ten days in three public places in the City of Los Angeles: one copy on the bulletin board located at the Main Street entrance to the Los Angeles City Hall; one copy on the bulletin board located at the Main Street entrance to the Los Angeles City Hall East; and one copy on the bulletin board located at the Temple Street entrance to the Los Angeles County Hall of Records.
