The standard student evaluation of learning must change.

Page 8: L7; Evaluation of technology learning (revised)

This is justified by the fact that not only has the new generation changed into a digital learners, but the traditional world has metamorphosed into a digital

world.

Page 9: L7; Evaluation of technology learning (revised)

Assessment needs to conform, not with the literacy of the past century but the new literacy of

the 21st century.

Page 10: L7; Evaluation of technology learning (revised)

This is a literacy that uses digital tools in preparing students to face a high-tech

world.

Page 11: L7; Evaluation of technology learning (revised)

Teachers must adopt a new mindset both for instruction and

evaluation. Evaluation must geared to assessment of

essential knowledge and skills so that learners can function

effectively, productively and creatively in a new world.

Page 12: L7; Evaluation of technology learning (revised)

DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP

Page 21: L7; Evaluation of technology learning (revised)

The standard paper and pencil tests will prove inadequate in assessing new learning. As students engage

in the problem solving process, assessment will also need to focus

on the 4 D’s.

Page 22: L7; Evaluation of technology learning (revised)

The Four (4) D’s

Page 23: L7; Evaluation of technology learning (revised)

Carefully consider the

problem. Define the problem.

DEFINE

Page 24: L7; Evaluation of technology learning (revised)

DESIGN

Create carefully a step by step action to solve the problem.

Page 25: L7; Evaluation of technology learning (revised)

DO Execute the plan

Page 26: L7; Evaluation of technology learning (revised)

DEBRIEF

Carefully review the final product.

Page 27: L7; Evaluation of technology learning (revised)

The 4 D’s have empower the students to solve the problems using higher-level

theoretical and practical thinking.
