Introduction
• I want to become a mechanic, I have strong passion for cars and trucks, and would like to go into a career involving them. In order to get a better idea of my career I want to go into as a auto tec. I will research it and put what I find into this PowerPoint. I’ll research the nature of work, working conditions, the required training, the employment rate, the money paid and if it suits my lifestyle goals. I hope it dose because I have strong passion for cars and trucks. If I find it doesn't I would still like to find a job that is better for me involving cars and trucks.
Nature of Work

• be able to use the power and hand tools they have used in the past
• checklist to make sure that they check every critical part, including belts, hoses, plugs, and brake and fuel systems
• work more than 40 hours a week• service technicians work indoors in repair shops
Working Conditions
• Physical• Often lift heavy parts and tools, minor cuts, burns, and
bruises are common• Mainly indoor repair shops/dealerships• About a 40 hour week• Work with heavy dirty, greasy parts/tools, well
ventilated shops, sometimes work in awkward and cramped positions

NOT in Michigan• Virginia has the 2nd highest annual salary at 42,240$ so
I’d like to go there

Related Occupation
• Diesel Service Technicians• Median Pay- $40,850• Responsibilities- inspect, repair buses, trucks, anything with a
diesel motor• work conditions- well ventilated, sometimes noisy• Training- Informal, employers prefer that you take some class
on this line of work• I chose this because… Well I didn’t know the professional
name for someone who designs the paint on cars is called.
Summary
• After three days of researching this job, and some input from my dad, I’m not 100% sure this is the line of work I want to go into. The average pay is not high enough for me, the high pay would be but the high pay would be, but however there is only a 10% chance that I would receive that pay. I still want to go into a line of work with cars, because other than baseball they are my passion. If I don’t do this I would like to go into auto paint design. I want to do that because I do still get to work with cars, and I can look at cars and instantly get ideas, and wonder, what would that car look like with this paint job.
