Purpose: What is it all about? Students that are in high school (9 th - 12 th grades) are invited to participate in the hands-on civic education event. Eligibility: Who can come? Students are accommodated at the Red Lion Hotel in Olympia, WA, however other conference activities allow students to be immersed in our state’s beautiful capital city. Location: Where is the event Know Your Government is a 4-H sponsored event that allows students to learn about and participate in three branches of government with their peers from across the state. This year’s theme, Decision 2016, invites students to explore political parties, the nomination process and what it takes to develop a platform that represents the 4-H youth. Prior to the end of the conference, the event delegation will elect a 4-H Governor. KYG 2016 Mission Statement The 4-H Know Your Government Conference serves to strengthen the connection between youth and our political and social networks through education, experience, application and inspiration. We look forward to hosting YOU as we discover together the power and influence of media in today’s society!
