4.5 Inlet Pressure/Suction Behaviour scheme 7The water contained in the heavy fuel oil is evapora-ting because of high temperatures and less inlet pres-sure. The diagramm shows the minimum inlet pres-sure on the suction side of the pump. These valuesmust be observed to guarantee perfect operating con-ditions (temperature max. 150 C).
4.6 Safety Valve4.6.1 The built-in safety valve protects the pump from beco-
ming overpressured and should not be used as a con-trol valve.
4.6.2 The opening pressure is adjusted 10 % above theoperating pressure (but not less than 3 bar).
4.6.3 Checking the Adjusted Opening Pressure.Close the stop valve at the pressure side of the pump. The manometer shows the opening pressure.Attention: When the medium is circulating too long inthis way, the pump will warm up and as a result thiscan cause mechanical damage.
4.6.4 Adjusting the Valve scheme 8Turning the adjusting screw clockwise increases theopening pressure, turning it anticlockwise decreasesit.
4.6.5 Without Safety Valve:For pumps without an internal safety valve we recom-mend that you install an external valve to protect theunit from becoming overpressured.
4.7 Heating4.7.1 It is necessary to install a heating if the fluid is of high
viscosity. To avoid cavitation and damage of seals, don`t start up the pump with could fluid. (Pay attentionto heating up period). When heating up, all valvesmust be opened because of expansion due to heat.

5.2 Pipework ConnectionAvoid stress of pipes scheme 13.
The pumps should not serve as a fixed reference po-int for the installed pipe line. Such occurences shouldbe avoided, if possible, e. g. bracing, the expansion ofpipe due to variations in temperature and unit stress. We recommend to install a compensator in case ofheat expansions of the pipes. The dimensions of thesuction pipe must allow a liquid velocity of 0,5 up tomax. 1,3 m/sec and the pressure pipe must allow a li-quid velocity of 2 - 3 m/sec. The suction pipeworkmust be installed with a gradual rise and air-tight. Thepipework and the pump must be free of impurity (e.g.flushing). When the pipework installation is being te-sted for leaks pay attention to the max. admissible in-let pressure of 10 bar. When draining the system it isimportant that pipe and pump are free from dirt (e. g.welding beads, pieces of steal etc). Carry out preser-vation (see Preservation). Oxydation and impurity cancause a breakdown.
5.3 Permissible Flange Forces scheme 14 The maximum load leans against the API Standard676 and guarantees a perfect operation without innerbracing or a run clearance reduction. In case of possi-ble thermal expansion of pipes the installation of ex-pansion joints is recommended.
5.2 RohrleitungsanschluRohrspannungen vermeiden Bild 13.

5.4 Assembling the Pump and MotorThe inner rotor of the magnetic coupling will be pulledup til thebackstop or the pump shaft and then fixed bythe cone clamp element.Screw torque:- size 5 to 42 - 4 Nm- size 55 to 1300 - 15 NmThe outer rotor of the magnetic coupling will be insidemounted flush to the motor shaft. When putting together the both coemponents pay att-netion to a gentle handling (pay attention to magneticfield). For further Information see capital 9 scheme 15.
If not, noise, vibrations, the destruction of the bearing, coupling demage and leakage will occur. Never ham-mer coupling upon shaft. The mounting of the pumpaggregate should be free of stress. The main spindleshould turn freely by hand after installation.
5.5 Foot ValveWith the suction operation it is necessary to install afoot valve with strainer. This process prevents the in-duction of impurity and draining of the suction pipe.
5.6 Electrical InstallationAll electrical connections should be made overloadprotected in accordance with any local regulationsand with the motor labels. Check motor labels for cor-rect voltage and current ratings. Pay attention to thewiring schematic in the motor terminal box.

6. START UP6.1 Dry Running Protection
The pumps must never be allowed to run dry, as thiswill cause severe damage to all the pump parts.Check by hand if the pump runs easy. We recom-mend: to fill the pump and suction pipe with the medi-um and vent. (A - to fill, B - to vent) scheme 1
6.2 Checking the Direction of RotationThe direction of rotation of the motor should corre-spond with the arrow shown on the pump. To checkthe direction of rotation it is allowed to start the motorfor a short time, when the suction and pressure val-ves are open. In case of wrong sense of rotationpump does not prime and as a result this can causedamage of the pump. If checking the direction of ro-tation longer than recommended this process shouldbe continued without the pump.
6.3 Start UpPrior to start up open valves on suction and pressureside. Vent pump/station during start up. Extreme tem-perature shock may destroy the pump/station.
7. MAINTENANCE
7.1 Maintenance and InspectionWe recommend that the unit is given a visual and noi-se check every day, as well as checking the functionof gasket
7.4 Dismantling the PumpPay attention to the electrical switch off, close lever orsuction- and pressure valve, drain pump (drain plug),when installing the pump again check if flat gaskets/o-rings are damaged.
7.5 Preservation and StorageThe pumps have been wetted and preserved with hy-draulic oil ISO VG 46, during testing. The user hasgot to preserve all other parts, which are not preser-ved in the factory, in accordanced with the local con-ditions. If the pump is not in operation for any periodof time or stored the user has to preserve it with ananti rust lubricant. We recommend: The inside surfa-ce of the pump - acid and resin free oil. Pump outside- Castrol Rustilo DWX 33 or others, selected by theuser regarding the local conditions.
7.6 Preventation of Damage Caused by LeakageThe user must install an alarm device to prevent da-mage caused by leakage.
6. INBETRIEBNAHME6.1 Trockenlaufschutz
