This includes supporting and retaining existing supporters and researching new key relationships with individuals as well as partnerships with local businesses, groups and associations. The post holder will represent the work, vision and purpose of Maggie’s Centres whilst also supporting the delivery of local and central fundraising initiatives and campaigns. This includes presentations, face to face, telephone and written communications. The post-holder is required to use effective and efficient fundraising skills to assist in delivering both financial and non financial targets which will support fundraising activity across Maggie’s. 3. 2. JOB SUMMARY

3. KEY RESULT AREAS

KRA 1. Primary requirements: Assist the Centre Fundraising Team with the planning and implementation of

the overall Centre fundraising strategy and fundraising activity for the Oxford Centre.

Assist the Centre Fundraising Manager with research into new fundraising ideas, potential new sources of support and report these back to improve activities.

Work collaboratively with other fundraising teams in Maggie’s to maximize income from all areas.

Work across a regional area within a geographically dispersed team. Work within a fast moving environment, identify and respond to changing

priorities.

Undertake any other duties consistent with the aims of Maggie’s.

KRA 2. Delivery of community fundraising plans and activities: Assist with the delivery of annual budgets and plans. Support Centre fundraising initiatives to maximize voluntary income

opportunities. Support the collection and sharing of ‘stories’ and insights. Work with colleagues to ensure that centrally managed fundraising activities

are supported locally. Work with local media, PR and through social media to maximise publicity and

awareness of Maggie’s and its activities. Attend local and national fundraising activities where appropriate. Support with accurately monitoring and evaluating results for reporting

purposes.

KRA 3. Finance and policy and service development: Assist in delivering annual income targets within an agreed cost ratio.

KRA 4. Putting the supporter first: Provide excellent supporter care, which enthuses supporters and encourages

commitment and loyalty to Maggie’s. Ensure that all communications are inspirational, personal and relevant. Provide and facilitate supporters with a choice of how they fundraise and

support Maggie’s. Give talks and presentations to local organisations i.e. schools, rotary clubs,

WIs etc, to increase awareness of and support for Maggie’s activities. Ensure that all supporters are managed in accordance with Maggie’s Centres

donor care policy. KRA 5. Management and Human Resources: To ensure the recruitment and development of a growing bank of volunteers

with clearly defined roles, job plans and management.

KRA 6. Research and Development Activity To ensure that local research is completed and kept up to date in terms of the

most effective methods to generate voluntary income and the most efficient ways to ensure all supporters are thanked and developed.

KRA 7. Information Technology To keep up to date with Maggie’s central database and to ensure that use of

the database is effective, accurate and consistent across the team.

KRA 8. Other Working within Maggie’s policies, procedures and adhering to legal

frameworks. Support with cash handling, banking, acknowledging and receipting

income if required in accordance with Maggie’s Centres policies and procedures.

Educated to A level standard or equivalent

Educated to degree level.

Membership of the Institute of Fundraising

CV, certificates & references

Experience Experience of

Raising funds in a community setting on a paid or voluntary basis or has worked in a related discipline (e.g. PR, marketing, sales, project management etc.)

Working as part of a team

Experience of

Working to and delivering budgets, targets and plans

Working with local press/media and has done press releases, photo ops etc
