DEPUTY’S REPORT by Mel Fenton

Hello Parents, Last week’s Winter Sports Carnival and K-2 Fun Sports Day were both a resounding success. The students all represented Kororo Public School with great sportsmanship and I received many comments from both students and staff about how much they enjoyed getting outside and working together with students from lots of different schools. A big thank you must go to the students from Orara High School and Coffs Harbour High School who gave their time to umpire the sports on the day. This week I had the pleasure of attending my very first Kororo Public School P&C meeting on Monday night at 7.00pm. This week was an excellent chance for me to start to get to know some of the families in our fantastic school community. The P&C committee are currently working very hard towards the organisation of our annual Twilight Fair. Keep your eye out for notices in the newsletter and on Skoolbag about special ways that you can support this fundraising event and encourage your kids to share information with you. All the money that the P&C raises goes directly back into the school to purchase exciting new resources and programs that have an impact on the students learning and wellbeing at school. School photos will take place in Week 9 of this term, 17th and 18th September. Notes and envelopes have been sent home with students for individual photos. Sibling photo envelopes will need to be collected from the school office. If you have any enquiries about the ordering process please contact Chad at Camera House on 6652 5766. Today’s Book Week parade was a resounding success with this year’s theme “Reading is my Secret Power” shining through in many of the costume choices. Thank you to everyone who made such a big effort to make the morning so memorable and fun.
