LOS COMIENZOS. THE BEGINNINGS.

Aquí empieza la historia de KOO International. Antonio Muñoz, fundador y empresario con amplia experiencia en la fabrica-ción de muebles tapizados, se establece en Silla (Valencia) e inicia esta nueva aventura con un objetivo muy claro: introdu-cir en el mercado productos de alto diseño y calidad a precios muy competitivos. Hoy, doce años después, KOO International se encuentra entre los principales productores de muebles tapizados en España.

This is where the story of KOO International begins. Antonio Muñoz, founder and entrepreneur with extesive experience in the manufacturing of upholstered furnture, sets up business in Silla (Valencia) and starts out on this new adventure with one very clear objective: to introduce top quality and excellently designed products into the market at very compe-titive prices. Today, twelve years later, KOO International ranks among the leading producers of upholstered furniture in Spain.

Uno de los secretos que ha acompañado a KOO International en su camino hacia el éxito ha sido su gran capacidad para combinar la experiencia y saber hacer de su equipo humano, con las últimas tecnologías aplicadas a la producción del mueble tapizado.

Hoy, una plantilla formada por 85 personas, 40 de ellas repun-tadores, conviven en los 7000 m2 de superficie de la fábrica con máquinas de corte de piel y tela de última generación asistidas por ordenador y capaces de optimizar el tejido, llegando a cortar hasta 40 telas a la vez.

El resultado: más de 100 sofás fabricados al día, de los cuales 20 están personalizados con medidas especiales, y 10 millones de euros de facturación en el año 2009.

One of the secrets behind KOO International’s path to success is our strong ability to combine our team’s experience and savoir-faire with the latest technology applied to upholstered furniture production.

Today, we have a staff of 85 people, 40 of them stitching ope-rators, working together in a 7000 m2 plant with state-of-the-art computer-assisted machinery for cutting leather and fabric that optimizes use and can cut up to 40 fabrics at a time.

The result? More than 100 sofas are manufactured every day, of which 20 are made to measure: and a turnover of 10 million euros in 2009.

MUSFRANCESC RIFÉ

Sofá modular diseñado por Francesc Rifé. Su esencia es la tarima sobre la que se apoyan los cojines, simbolizando un palé sobre el que se han dejado caer sacos. La colección la componen distintos elementos, como la chaise longue o los puffs.

A modular sofa designed by Francesc Rifé. The essence of the suite is represented by the platform supporting the cushions, symbolising a pallet on which sacks have been dropped. The collection is made up of various elements, such as a chaise longue and puffs.

Dos volúmenes diferenciados que permiten combinar colores y materiales. Posibilidad de uso en distintos espacios: en interiores, con la versión totalmente tapizada “Alma in” y en exteriores con “Alma Out”, combinación de polietileno y tela.

CAMELOTEDUARDO CLIMENT

Camelot es un proyecto en el que se trabaja el vacío. El volumen sólido que generalmente conforma el sofá se ve aligerado por ambos huecos laterales. El resultado es un conjunto con una personalidad inconfundible.

Camelot is a project that makes space work. The solid volume making up the general sofa is softened by the two hollow sides. The result is a sofa suite with unmistakable personality.

La colección Ketty surge de un estudio riguroso de la ergonomía aliada con una geometría suavizada. Sus líneas le confieren una sensación acogedora y actual, aportando un aire refinado a cualquier ambiente, tanto en hogar como en instalaciones de contract.

The Ketty collection is the result of a meticulous study in ergonomics allied with softened geometric shapes. Its lines give a cosy and modern impression, producing a refined look in any environment, whether at home or in contract use.

NOONHÉCTOR DIEGO

Noon es una colección de sofás modulares de apariencia mórbida y redondeada. Su leitmotiv es la comodidad y el confort en todas sus piezas, de ahí la sensación cómoda y envolvente de la sentada. Noon es válido tanto para el hogar como para instalaciones.

Noon is a collection of modular sofas of a somewhat morbid and rounded appearance. The leitmotif here is comfort in all pieces, creating a comfortable and enveloping sensation for the sitter. Noon is suitable for both household and contract use.

EL FUTURO DE LA COMPAÑÍA.THE FUTURE OF THE COMPANY.

Aunque en la actualidad para KOO International el sector del hogar sigue siendo el más significativo, el mercado del contract va adquiriendo importancia progresivamente y se posiciona como el próximo objetivo de la compañía. Muestra de ello son los proyectos que ya hemos realizado para hoteles, restau-rantes, hospitales y oficinas, lugares que soportan una gran afluencia de público y que exigen la aplicación de nuevas técnicas de producción y el uso de tejidos de alta resistencia, como las telas ignífugas, sin descuidar uno de los principales valores de la marca: la estética de sus piezas.

Although the home décor industry is currently the most important sector for KOO International, the contract market is gradually growing in importance and is now the company’s next target market. This is proven by the projects that we have already carried out for hotels, restaurants, hospitals and offices, places where there are many people and that require the application of new production methods and the use of high-resistance materials such as fire-proof fabrics, without forgetting one of the brand’s principal values: the beauty of its products.
