What is Thermography (IR)?
Thermography is the acquisition and analysis using electronic optical devices to detect and measure radiation and determine surface temperature of an object.

THERMOGRAPHYHISTORY OF INFRARED TECHNOLOGY
Sir William Herschel, a German astronomer, observed thermography in 1800. He passed the sunlight through a prism and discovered that the temperature increased beyond red light.
Sir John Herschel, son of William, was the first to produce an image called an evaporograph in 1840
The first American involved with the evolution of Thermography was Samuel Langley, an astronomer, who used a bolometer to detect heat from a cow over 1000 feet away in 1880.
