Thank you to the entire committee of parents who worked to make this happen, to our PTSA for sponsoring, and to all the performers. Most especially, my gratitude to Mrs. Wu and Mrs. Wai for their endless hours of time coordinating this special time. Congratulations Class of 2021!

REPEAT OF SUMMER RESOURCES & INFORMATION

Remind your students to record volunteer hours; here’s how With summer here and pandemic restriction easing, students will be earning community service hours through the summer. Here is a link to the community service page on Newport’s website: https://bsd405.org/nhs/counseling/community-service/

• If you scroll down the page there is a section that gives step-by-step instructions for recording volunteer hours.

• The links include a PowerPoint on how to login into x2vol, the platform we use for logging community service hours. It explains how community service hours work and includes community service opportunities.

• If your student needs help, encourage them to book an appointment with their counselor to go over this information.

Team Newport – Grab spirit gear for you or your student If you are looking for NHS gear, this online store will be open until the 28th. On offer are outerwear, clothing, hats, and tumblers. This is not a fundraiser. It is just an opportunity for our community to purchase some Knights gear. Orders are made online and are shipped directly to you when the online store closes.

Laptops stay with students in grades 9-11 through the summer We are excited to announce that all returning Newport students can keep their district device this summer. This ensures every student has an opportunity to continue to learn, connect, innovate, communicate, collaborate and so much more. Reminders for using student devices over the summer:

• Students not continuing in Bellevue will need to return their devices to their school’s office prior to the end of the school year. Current seniors will turn in their devices as part of their school’s “Senior Checkout” process.

• The terms of the Technology Responsible Use Pledge still apply. • Students are responsible for the care of their device. • Devices will still have their web traffic filtered.

• Students are responsible for bringing their device back on the first day of school. If students have hardware issues at the end of the school year or over summer break, we highly encourage them to get their device fixed. This is to ensure they can start the first day of next school year with a fully functional device. Prior to returning to school in the fall, students will need to charge, turn on and connect to the district network via BSD-VPN. This is to ensure student devices receive the necessary summer updates prior to the first day of school. If tech support is needed, students may email [email protected]

Synergy System clearing 2020-2021 student data on July 2 This year's student information such as class schedules, attendance and grades will continue to be accessible in the existing tabs in StudentVUE and ParentVUE until 5:00 pm Friday, July 2, 2021. After this time, there will no longer be information in these tabs until students’ 2021-22 schedules are loaded prior to the start of school in September. Exception: Relevant information will be available for students attending a Summer Program. 2020-21 report cards will be available in the Documents tab, along with students’ past report cards.
