13.1 INTRODUCTION

The level of required professional security in commerce and industry today is higher than it has ever been and because of this need, the KANGISO JULUKA SECURITY SERVICES (PTY) LTD has embarked on a NATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAM that has encompassed all aspect of the security industry as a whole.

13.2 CAREER PATH GUIDANCE

Each officer commencing duties with the company is shown the career guide and counselled as to their initial immediate term objectives, short and long term goals. They are then measured on an on-going through training and ISO 9001 reports.

13.3 STAFF TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

Each employee is made aware of the staff training and development programme which will encompass for the next five years through induction and is then advised on an enquiry basis as to their needs and aspirations within the group.

13.4 TRAINING COURSES

The courses offered to each employee of the company goes far beyond the normal security requirements and capable of taking an employee up to and including Diploma level operations.

The main objective is empowerment of individuals through training and development and long term planning.13.5 CLIENT SECURITY PERSONNEL

Once an officer posted to a client, the following procedures are maintained;

13.5.1 Each officer is trained within the company environment before being posted.13.52 On site orientation is completed within 24 hours of their placement.13.5.3 Monthly performance checks are made through the ISO9001 system.13.5.4 Site Commanders attend a monthly refresher course. 13.5.5 Site personnel are being tested every two months by a Testing Officer, on their application and understanding of their responsibilities, on site13.5.6 Officers attend an in-house training programme every six months.13.5.7 In order to make specific needs of a client, the following system will be in place;

13.5.8 All officers working on site will have been selected, vetted, checked, employed and inducted.13.5.9 Officers are then orientated on site.13.5.10 Each officer is trained to a grade one level higher than what is required on site by the client.

Our service level agreement is living documents that is structured around requirements as specified by each client. The basis is formed from the site operations and instruction manual and clear understanding is outlined as to the level of expectation and the delivery of the specified service. 18. SERVICES WE OFFER: 18.1 CCTV and Fire Detection

CCTV Security Services

Many companies have CCTV, but, few monitor the system effectively due to time or financial constraints. If managed correctly, however, CCTV is a valuable and cost effective tool for loss prevention, safety and security.

CCTV is mainly associated with detecting crime; however, it could be involved with detecting activities ranging from Production process issues.

Safety & Health issues.

Supervise in-house security personnel for compliance with the Security Site Procedure Manual.

Ensure criminal incidents and other transgressions are detected and reported for further investigation.

Record and report suspicious behavior or incidents for review and investigation.

Observe and monitor access and movement in high risk areas in order to detect and record suspicious behavior or incidents.

Arrange or position the use of CCTV cameras and screen sequencing to increase the possibility of detecting security and crime related incidents.

Highlight coverage shortfalls and follow-up of all outstanding faults/failure/alarm conditions.

Report security incidents and emergency situations to internal and external stakeholders.

Liaise with security service providers on non performance issues, ensuring corrective measures are implemented.

Report faulty or defective security systems to superiors and relevant sections.

Raise security awareness.

CCTV Systems are Client specific and tailored to meet the Client's information and budget requirements. From a one camera setup to a multi camera system, timeouts monitoring is essential to ensure profits are maximized.

At Kangiso Juluka Security we do an analysis with the client as to what the purpose of the CCTV should be and what the clients expectations are prior to producing a quote and installation. We also ensure that the goal of the client is met and that the system is pro-active and can be used to its full extend.18.2 Alarm installations and monitoring

Burglar bars, padlocks and security gates provide a sense of safety, but, it is the alarm system that provides the most comforting security. Kangiso Juluka Security Services, with the assistance of its subcontractor Safety and Security, installs high quality alarm systems at affordable costs. Each alarm system is designed according to the specifications of the client.

Post alarm installation, a 24/7alarm monitoring service is offered to keep clients informed of all suspicious activity on their premises.

Our response centre control room is SAIDSA approved and the controllers receive extensive training to ensure that they are familiar with the procedures and client expectations in the event of an alarm being activated and response sent out.18.3Armed Response

KJSS is a highly visible force working together with the SAPS, Metro Police, Law Enforcement Agencies and other private security companies. We work to combat crime, deter loiterers around business premises, discourage unauthorized street trading, as well as bringing an end to illegal parking and dumping.

We use motor vehicles recognizably marked with the KJSS Logos. This fleet of vehicles are stationed according to zoned determination areas and can be seen patrolling the area constantly.

18.6.1 The KJSS has, over the past 6 years, developed strong security service delivery methodologies in many industry sectors. It has already been established that a high percentage of stock-loss occurs in the receiving department of any business. We strive to limit these stock-losses when we place our staff as detail checkers in the desired areas.

The officers are trained in the receiving procedures and also the system (such as SAP). This ensures that these staff members are familiar with the procedures and will notice when something out of the ordinary occurs.

All discrepancies are immediately reported to the supervisor / site manager, who will then liaise with the Receiving Manager and the Loss Prevention Manager in an investigation to establish the nature of the discrepancy and also if there is any liability because of the discrepancy.

A discrepancy report is generated every week or month as required by the client and distributed to all concerned parties.
