Kiwanis Young Professionals Club – we were happy to welcome Daniel Dau to our meeting. Daniel is a past Key Club and Circle K member and is now planning to form a “Young Professionals” Kiwanis Club. East Boston Kiwanis Club is proud to help Daniel with this endeavor and will be the host club. Guest Speaker – David Cohen is a professional speaker and founded a company to help individuals improve their public speaking skills. Mr. Cohen entertained the club with his inspiring presentation. Several of our members and guests shared their “moments of greatness”. Bill Barney – announced the Revere Kiwanis fundraiser to be held October 2nd at Suffolk Downs. It will be a “Cow Chip Bingo”, tickets are $25 and there are 220 squares available. COMMITTEES & UPDATES:

Letter Appeal Fundraiser – (Co-Chairs: Clark Moulaison, Matt Mallen, Mike Moscone) 8 “Teams” – a Team Captain and team of several other club members. Each is working together in the effort to raise at least $1,000 per team, which is approximately the amount we regularly distribute yearly to community organizations in our Community. Each team member will approach businesses, past members, friends, etc. for donations towards the club’s campaign. This 6 week campaign will be completed by Labor Day. At the next meeting (Tuesday August 10th) the committee will meet and distribute envelopes for mailing out to others not yet contacted. Added bonus: the team that raises the most will be served dinner by the team that raises the least! UPDATE: the Clark Moulaison team is leading at the moment with $520 raised! Deb Jackson (Matt Mallen’s Team) challenged Clark’s Team and cleverly raised some money at the meeting.

Foxwoods Fundraiser to Benefit New England Foundation/KPTI – Thanks to Rosalie Petralia and Buddy Mangini for a successful event! Everyone had a great time and we raised $695!

Annual Senior Picnic (Chairperson - Frank Durante) Committee: Buddy Mangini, George Gambale & Rosalie Petralia – Thursday August 12th, at Salem Willows. Registration will take place on Monday, August 2nd at 10:30am at the East Boston Social Centers. Requirements: Registration fee - $2, 65 years of age or older, Proof of East Boston residency (Utility bill or ID).

Installation/Recognition Event – (Chairperson – John Gillis) to be held in September

“Kiwanian of the Year” event – (Chairperson – Pat Rosa) A committee is being formed.

Birthdays, Anniversaries & Other Happy Dollars:

John Gillis’ wife Julie, son John, and daughter Maria all celebrated their birthdays in July! Joe Panzini celebrated his birthday on July 20th Buddy Mangini – celebrated his birthday on July 26th George Gambale – celebrated his birthday on July 28th Clark Moulaison – was congratulated by all on a job well done for his part in the “Chronicle” TV show which spotlighted East Boston. Daniel Dau was welcomed by all – we are looking forward to having him as part of our club. Vesta Brown was wished the best of luck by all on the upcoming election for Governor Elect of the NE District.
