Background:  Couture  for  a  Cause  is  an  annual  fashion  show  fundraiser  benefiting  Activate  Good!  At  Couture  for  a  Cause,  they  pair  local  designers  with  Activate  Good’s  nonprofit  partners  to  create  looks  that  represent  the  missions  of  those  organizations.  First  hosted  in  2009,  Couture  for  a  Cause  has  become  Activate  Good’s  fun  and  fashionable  annual  tradition,  filling  the  house  year  to  year.  The  event  is  also  a  competition  for  local  designers,  who  compete  for  a  chance  to  win  prizes  in  Couture  wear  and  Ready-­‐to-­‐Wear  categories.  At  the  end  of  each  runway  show,  guests  will  have  a  chance  to  bid  on  their  favorite  looks  in  a  live  auction  and  a  silent  auction  for  other  items.

Couture  for  a  Cause  

October  29,  2014  –  Raleigh,  NC  -­‐  Couture  for  a  Cause  is  an  annual  fashion  show  fundraiser  

benefiting  Activate  Good!    First  hosted  in  2009,  Couture  for  a  Cause  has  become  Activate  

Good’s  fun  and  fashionable  annual  tradition,  filling  the  house  year  to  year.  

The  mission  at  Activate  Good  is  to  activate  volunteers  to  help  charitable  causes  in  our  local  

community.  As  volunteerism  benefits  the  thousands  of  nonprofit  causes  that  provide  

necessary  services  in  our  community,  it  also  provides  physical,  mental,  and  emotional  

benefits  to  the  individuals  volunteering.  

 Activate  Good  envisions  a  world  in  which  volunteering  and  doing  for  others  is  part  of  everyday  life.  And  as  a  part  of  doing  good  in  everyday  life,  we  put  on  a  great  fashion  show  where  we  pair  local  designers  with  Activate  Good’s  nonprofit  partners  to  create  looks  that  embody  the  missions  of  those  organizations.  This  year’s  event  will  be  held  at  Marbles  Kids  Museum,  the  hands-­‐on  minds-­‐on  museum  which  inspires  imagination.
